  • Kit - (All Grain) - The UK First Gold Single Hop Experiment - PLACEHOLDER Kit - (All Grain) - The UK First Gold Single Hop Experiment - PLACEHOLDER

The UK First Gold Single Hop Experiment | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | All-Grain

Our Single Hop Experiment series is the perfect way to learn the characteristics of individual hop varietals Includes a small bittering addition of Magnum and three 2 oz additions of your chosen hop for late boil and at dry hopping Estimated ABV: 5% Estimated IBUs: 35 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer We recently had a simple, yet exciting idea: What if we brewed the same recipe, used the same yeast, but changed one thing - the flavor, aroma, and dry hop additions using one hop varietal. That way we could take two beers that are close to identical and pick out the differences in just the hop flavors and aromas! And thus, the Single Hop Experiment was born. This recipe is based off of a simple Pale Ale: 2-Row, Crystal 15L, Magnum bittering hops, and then a single other hop for the rest of the additions. The malt in this recipe is basic and fairly neutral, the bittering clean and consistent, but the flavor and aroma from the late hop additions will vary; sometimes dramatically! Ever wanted to know what your favorite hop really is? Brew a few of these different Single Hop Experiment recipes to find out! Estimated Original Gravity:1.049-54 SRM (Color Range): 7-8 IBU's: 35 Estimated Alcohol Percentage: 5% Our recipe kits DO NOT include grain bags, yeast or priming sugar. To find our yeast recommendations, choose your preferred kit option above and then select the drop-down menu under “Yeast Options”.  For more info, click on the recommended yeast(s) below in the “You Might Also Need” section below. All grains will come milled, unless you select unmilled base malts.

LME is a viscous liquid, similar in consistency to maple syrup. In addition to being the more affordable option, many brewers find LME easier to handle than dry extract. DME is more condensed and comes in a powder format that is similar to baking flour. Although it’s a little more costly, DME is naturally lighter in color and stays fresher for longer. We highly recommend DME when brewing light colored beers.

    The Ultimate Sparge Arm

    87 reviews

Our Patent Pending sparge arm design is the perfect addition to almost any all grain setup! This sparge arm assembly is made completely of stainless steel and silicone, and has two adjustment points. One of these will help to hold the sparge arm against your kettle, while the other allows you to move the sparge arm up or down inside the kettle to accommodate different amounts of grain. These adjustment knobs are very easy to hand tighten and loosen, meaning no tools are necessary. Excellent for sparging as well as recirculating your mash in a RIMS or HERMS system! To use, simply install on your kettle wall, tighten down the stopper bumper to hold the sparge arm in place, adjust the height of the bottom disc to be right above your grain bed but below the mash tun's water level, and adjust the flow level using the included ball valve. This unit will not include a barb or quick disconnect on the inlet of the ball valve, as every brewery is different. Please choose an inlet attachment from the sparge arms recommended items. Note - This sparge arm will not fit on most coolers. Make sure to check out the video in the video tab below.   Features 100% stainless and silicone construction Two adjustment knobs make it extremely universal Included ball valve allows you to increase or decrease the flow rate during sparge or recirculation Included check ball will prevent back flow Can adjust from the top of your kettle to 12-13 inches down into your kettle A single, large diameter outlet port trickles onto a stainless disc, which distributes sparge water gently and evenly. This port is also much easier to flush out and keep clean than many other sparge assemblies with multiple small holes that grain gets stuck in during recirculation Stainless tube measures 18.5" from the top to the bend, and 8.5" from the bottom to the center of the distribution disc. Can be mounted on a lip that is up to 7/8" wide Has a 1/2" FPT ball valve

  • Bottle Rinsing or Sparging Base Bottle Rinsing or Sparging Base

The Vintage Shop | 2-in-1 Bottle Washer | Bottle Rinsing or Gas Purging Base | 12 Seat | WineMaker Magazine "Must Have"

    21 reviews

If there is a wine making product that should get a design award for usable simplicity, this is it. Imagine a system that for under $100 allows you to rinse bottles one case at a time, temporarily store them while they drain upside down, and then flush them with inert gas prior to filling. You're not dreaming... please read on! The base portion of the system connects to a water supply for rinsing or to your inert gas system for purging/flushing. In our ideal plan you have two bases. One is used for rinsing, the other, sitting right next to it, is used for purging. Comes with a female garden hose fitting attached to a plastic 1/2" barb fitting on the unit. The rinsing base might be placed in a tub that is recirculating with sanitizing solution (such as: CL27) or might just drain to the ground if you are working outside. *Note you will need to buy as many racks (CE971) as needed. Each rack holds 12 bottles. 12.25" L x 10.75" W x 3" H Max Temp: 167° F (75° C)

The Vintage Shop | Super Transfer Pump | Variable Speed Diaphragm Pump | 0-3 GPM | Self-Priming | Quick Disconnect Pre-Filter | Tubing Included

    75 reviews

When siphoning is impractical or too time consuming, the home winemaker needs a pump. We helped pioneer the use of diaphragm pumps as an economical, gentle method to move small volumes of wine. This new take on an old favorite includes speed control. Now you can dial in the flow from 0 to 3 gallons per minute. Gentle, economical, flexible, and wow are all adjectives we would use to describe the performance. When this pump was first introduced to us, we loved the idea, but had concerns that the speed control would compromise the longevity of the motor. We build much larger pumps (our ChunkyPumps for commercial wineries) and normally you need a $700 frequency drive to control motor speed. However, we kept in touch with the manufacturer and after three years in which he has not had any issues, and after our own testing, we are now sold that this pump performs as promised. The manufacturer offer a 1 year warranty. A diaphragm pump works by moving wine through one pulsating diaphragm into the next. In this design, as opposed to a centrifugal pump which has a small head spinning at high speeds, the shear value is small meaning the wine is not as "beat up". A diaphragm pump is self-priming, meaning that it will "pump air" creating suction that will pull liquid out of your container and into the pump head. This makes the pump very easy to use for the home winemaker. This pump comes with 1/2" barbed ports for easy connectivity.  Comes with 4' tubing on both sides. 110 Volts, 0.5 Amp, 60 Hz. Includes a built-in pre filter to help prevent solid materials from entering the pump head and potentially damaging the diaphragms, which would prevent the pump from being able to move liquid. The clear plastic top of the pre filter unscrews for cleaning.
