    Chocolate Malt | Viking Malt

Adds roasted flavors and aromas with hints of dark chocolate and coffee Strong coloring value for dark beers like porters and stouts Recommended use is typically less than 10% of your grain bill 300-375 °L - Viking Malt - Viking Chocolate Malt is produced by roasting from pilsner malt. Final temperature and roasting time is somewhat lower compared to their Black Malt. The amylolytic activity of Chocolate Malt is zero. The amount of fermentable extract is rather low. Flavor of Chocolate Malt is burnt, bitter and smoky, but not as intense as Black Malt. Aromas and tastes of coffee and chocolate can be found and they are well balanced in the overall taste. Use it to tell if your malolactic fermentation has completed and you can move to the next step. This information is essential knowledge for doing SO2 additions, cold stabilization, acid additions, etc on wines that have been innoculated with an ML strain or allowed to undergo natural malolactic fermentation. You always want to know if ML has completed before bottling because if a wine is bottled with an incomplete Malolactic Fermentation it runs a high risk of completing it in the bottle which will ruin the wine. Comes with 25 sheets, as many as 4 samples can be tested per sheet (must be tested simultaneously, sheets cannot be re-used). MoreWine! Guide To Malolactic Chromatograpy

  • Chronical 14 Gal FTSs System Chronical 14 Gal FTSs System

Chronical 14 Gal FTSs - Fermentation Temperature Stabilization System

    2 reviews

Chill your beer in the summer and warm your beer in the winter! Use a chill water source when it's hot or warmed water if it's cold! Temperature control during fermentation is one of the most significant contributors to the flavor of our beers, yet it all too often gets overlooked. This particular unit is designed to work specifically with the 14 Gallon Chronical Fermentor. Brewers typically have limited the styles of beers they produce to the varying temperatures of the seasons. The system is elegant and engineered, yet it stays true to the heart and soul of us home brewers. The FTSs uses a precision digital temperature controller in combination with a 304 stainless steel immersion chiller. The digital controller constantly monitors your beer’s temperature and will activate the circulation pump (which, by the way, is quieter than a mouse) to hold the fermentation temperature at your predetermined set point. You can crash cool or lager too! You supply the chill water source, which can be as simple as ice water in a cooler or as involved as glycol from a chiller’s reservoir. We supply the rest of the system. As long time fellow home brewers, this is a system we know many of you have been dreaming about for a long time: advanced temperature control for the beers you make at an affordable price. Features: Custom lid w/ 304 Ss immersion chiller coil Pro grade (super quiet) submersible pump 110-240V power supply 304 Ss weldless lid mounted thermowell Tailored neoprene insulation jacket Digital temperature controller

Unanimously loved as a late addition or dry hop in Hazys, West Coast IPAs, Pale Ales, and other hop-forward styles Aroma Profile: Citrus, Stone Fruit, Tropical, Woody Alpha Acids: 21.0 – 28.0% Cryo Hop® Hop Pellets Higher AA and nearly twice the resin content of traditional T-90 hop pellets Increase yield by reducing vegetal matter in your brewhouse and fermenter Cryo Hops® provide brewers with the ability to get gigantic hop character while reducing astringent and unpleasant vegetal flavors. With a substantially higher oil and resin content, LupuLN2 powder offers up all the flavor and aroma of a heavily hopped beer, but with a significanly reduced grassy character. Additionally, the lower dosage rate of the concentrated powder reduces the volume of trub and therefore, kettle loss. Using Cryo Hops® you will net more beer that is clearer! Typical usage of Cryo Hops® would be roughly 50% of pellets. LupuLN2 powder can be used in any application where traditional hop products are utilized, including: Bittering, Kettle, Whirlpool and even direct to the fermentor.  It is suggested that you use Cryo Hops® as late additions, in the whirlpool or dry hop, as the volatile aromatic compounds will be driven off if added early in the boil. Cryo Hops® are an innovative hop product that is made by separating the lupulin from the hop flower using cryogenic processing. The result is a product with twice the potency of T90 pellets, with reduced astringency and vegetative material. Note: These hops come pelletized. The powder is compressed into pellet form to make handling easier. Typical Hop Statistics: Alpha Acids: 21.0 – 28.0% Beta Acids: 5.0 – 9.0% Total Oil: 2.0 – 6.0%   Citra® is a registered trademark owned by Hop Breeding Company. Citra® also has a fairly high alpha acid content making it a good choice for bittering IPAs, Pales, and American Ales. Supply has been limited in the industry but MoreBeer! loved this hop from day one and bought a lot of it years ago on contract. Whole cone hops are typically the preferred format for dry hopping as they maintain contact with the beer by floating, they are easier to remove than pellets and they add a unique character to the beer. LME is a viscous liquid, similar in consistency to maple syrup. In addition to being the more affordable option, many brewers find LME easier to handle than dry extract. DME is more condensed and comes in a powder format that is similar to baking flour. Although it’s a little more costly, DME is naturally lighter in color and stays fresher for longer. We highly recommend DME when brewing light colored beers.   Citra® is a registered trademark owned by Hop Breeding Company.
