  • Kit (Extract) - Strawberry Blonde - PLACEHOLDER Kit (Extract) - Strawberry Blonde - PLACEHOLDER

Strawberry Blonde Ale | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | Extract

A light, malt-forward base spiked with 4 oz of natural strawberry flavoring. A beautiful beer recipe that all will admire Includes Crystal and El Dorado hops Estimated ABV: 4.5% Estimated IBUs: 15-18 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer This beautiful beer is definitely one that will catch your attention!  With a light, malt forward approach, the base beer is delicious on its own.  When you add the natural strawberry flavoring (included), it truly becomes a delicate, but flavorful, masterpiece.  This is a beer that everyone can enjoy, at pretty much anytime of the day.  During a BBQ in the afternoon or relaxing in the evening, we're pretty sure you'll want to have another!  We include 4 oz of our natural strawberry flavoring, which provides a noticeable but not overpowering flavor. Makes 5 gallons Estimated Original Gravity:1.044-49 SRM (Color Range): 4-6 IBUs: 15-18 Estimated Alcohol Percentage: 4.5% Our recipe kits DO NOT include grain bags, yeast or priming sugar. To find our yeast recommendations, choose your preferred kit option above and then select the drop-down menu under “Yeast Options”.  For more info, click on the recommended yeast(s) below in the “You Might Also Need” section below. All included steeping grains will come milled.     Liquid Malt Extract (LME) vs. Dried Malt Extract (DME) MoreBeer! recipe kits are offered in both Liquid Malt Extract and Dry Malt Extract so that our customers can choose the format that best suits their needs and brewing style. LME is a viscous liquid, similar in consistency to maple syrup. In addition to being the more affordable option, many brewers find LME easier to handle than dry extract. DME is more condensed and comes in a powder format that is similar to baking flour. Although it’s a little more costly, DME is naturally lighter in color and stays fresher for longer. We highly recommend DME when brewing light colored beers.

Renegade Rye | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | All-Grain

Feeling a little rebellious?  Like a pale ale that has gone astray?  While the Renegade Rye doesn't break all the rules, it certainly deserts the path of an average pale ale!  The backbone of this brew contains over 15% rye malt, which adds slight fruity and spicy characteristics to the malt flavors.  The clean bitterness from Magnum hops allows these malt flavors to mix perfectly with the aromas of Columbus, Citra®, and Centennial hops. So go ahead, brew the Renegade Rye, and rebel against standard pale ales! • Kit (Extract) - obSession IPA - PLACEHOLDER Kit (Extract) - obSession IPA - PLACEHOLDER

ObSession IPA | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | Extract

At just under 5%, we like to think of this beer as a hop lover's dream. A truly sessionable IPA overflowing with hop character Includes Warrior®, Centennial, and Simcoe® hops Estimated ABV: 5% Estimated IBUs: 58-62 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer If you're looking for a new session IPA to obsess over, look no further!  We recently changed this recipe slightly, making all finishing hops Centennial (rather than a blend between Centennial and HBC-342).  We made sure to keep the Simcoe® dry hop though, as we felt this really brought a "pop" to the aroma!   While the general rule of thumb has been "one or two IPAs and you're feeling it", at just under 5%, we like to think of this beer as a hop lovers dream.  The type of IPA that you can open up at noon, get the grill going, and forget worrying about how you're going to feel after drinking 8% IPAs for a few hours!  (Yes, we know that feeling too...) A half pound of corn sugar helps this one finish out nice and dry, while a small amount of acidulated malt will help make those hops pop. The clean bitterness of Warrior® balances perfectly with a slightly sweet malt profile, all topped off with a white, frothy head thanks to the wheat malt. So what are you waiting for?!  Order your kit today and let the obsession begin! Makes 5 gallons Estimated Original Gravity: 1.048-1.052 SRM (Color Range): 5-6 IBUs: 58-62 Estimated Alcohol Percentage: 5%   Our recipe kits DO NOT include grain bags, yeast or priming sugar. • Kit (All Grain) - M-80 IPA - PLACEHOLDER Kit (All Grain) - M-80 IPA - PLACEHOLDER

M-80 IPA by Carlos Musques | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | All-Grain

Our Signature Series kits offer a selection of crazy, unique beers developed by MoreBeer! customers, associates, and homebrewing legends! Packed with hops in the kettle and finished with fresh oranges in the fermenter, this IPA is primed to explode in your mouth Includes Columbus, Simcoe®, and Centennial hops Estimated ABV: 6.5% Estimated IBUs: 75-80 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer Remember your parents scaring you with "Be careful of firecrackers, they can explode in your hand!"  Well let us warn you right now... our new, juicy M-80 IPA is going to explode in your mouth. It's going to be crazy. Flavors going everywhere. Maybe your parents would tell you to use caution and not to make this beer. But you're grown up now, making adult decisions (most of the time), and we think you've earned the right to buy a beer kit with a fuse and a lighter. With a slight smile and a wink of the eye, we say "go ahead... have some fun". Let us tell you about the inner workings of this bomb. Sure it has big IPA malt, but you want to know about the hops. It starts with an unreasonable amount of Simcoe®, Columbus, and Centennial hops. By themselves these are all explosive hops, but together they combine to bring true, huge IPA hop flavor.  Because of the similarity of hops, one MoreBeer! staffer dubbed it a mini "Pliny The Elder... but with orange". High praise indeed. Did you just say Orange? Well done sir, good paying attention. What really sets this IPA apart from the masses is that the recipe calls for you to cut up and add three fresh oranges into the fermenter. Crazy? We thought so. But that is what we love about our Signature Series of Beer Kits, a selection of crazy, unique beers that really stand out. M-80 IPA was designed and created by your fellow homebrewer, Carlos Musquez. We do admit he went a little AWOL on this kit and into uncharted territory, but we love a rebel. You will need to supply the three fresh oranges... we'd ship them to you, but they would get a little squishy. Makes 5 gallons Estimated Original Gravity: 1.059-64 SRM (Color Range): 7 IBUs: 75-80 Estimated Alcohol Percentage: 6.5%   Our recipe kits DO NOT include grain bags, yeast or priming sugar. To find our yeast recommendations, choose your preferred kit option above and then select the drop-down menu under “Yeast Options”.  For more info, click on the recommended yeast(s) below in the “You Might Also Need” section below. Water: A Comprehensive Guide for Brewers

    5 reviews

Water is arguably the most critical and least understood of the foundation elements in brewing beer. Water: A Comprehensive Guide for Brewers, third in Brewers Publications’ Brewing Elements series, takes the mystery out of water’s role in the brewing process. From an overview on sources, quality and geography, the book leads brewers through how to read water reports, understanding flavor contributions, and the treatment and chemistry of brewing water. A discussion of adjusting water to styles of beer, residual alkalinity, malt acidity, mash pH, brewery process water and wastewater treatment is included. Written by John Palmer and MoreBeer!'s own Colin Kaminski.
