Russian River Brewing Company Pliny the Elder® Double IPA | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | All-Grain
This BrewMaster Series kit was scaled down to a homebrew batch size in collaboration with the brewmasters at Russian River Brewing Company THE original Pliny the Elder recipe, given to us directly by Vinnie at Russian River Brewing Company High bitterness and intense hop flavor with a dry malt finish Includes whole Cascade, Magnum, Simcoe®, Columbus, and Centennial hops Estimated ABV: 8% Estimated IBUs: 100+ Makes 5 gallons of finished beer Pliny the Elder is a truly amazing beer with a cult like following, and was once one of the hardest IPAs to find, as Russian River brewed it in very limited quantities. Depending on where you live, it may still be next to impossible to track down! But with this killer clone kit you can make your own Pliny and perhaps you will develop your own cult following where you are worshiped by your beer loving friends. (Hey, it could happen!). Light malt color, huge hops, and a dry finish. Be prepared for an outrageous amount of flavor. This is THE original Pliny the Elder recipe, given to us directly by Vinnie at Russian River Brewing Company. This beer is an intense Double IPA. High bitterness with a dry malt finish, 8% alcohol, 6 separate hot side hop additions, 3 separate dry hop additions, and intense hop flavor and aroma! Pliny sets the standard for Double IPAs! Who is Pliny the Elder? This beer is named after Gainus Plinius Secondus, or Pliny the Elder, a Roman author, lawyer, naval man and naturalist who first mentions the botanical name for hops in his writings - lupus salictarius, which translated from Latin means Wolf Among Willows. Sadly, Pliny died while helping people escape the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in August, 79 AD. Pliny the Younger was the nephew of Pliny the Elder and is the name of another outrageous and highly sought-after beer from Russian River. Russian River Brewing If you have not tasted beers from Russian River Brewing Company, you should put it way up on your priority list. This is a brewery with huge demand that keeps quality as a first priority. Owner Vinnie Cilurzo is also unique in that he still actively brews and tests recipes and ingredients (on a MoreBeer! Brewsculpture by the way) on a constant basis. Amazing. Makes 5 gallons Estimated Original Gravity: 1.070-74 SRM (Color Range): 10 IBUs: 198-202 (this is a theoretical number, you will actually get around 100 IBU) Estimated Alcohol Percentage: 8% Our recipe kits DO NOT include grain bags, yeast or priming sugar. To find our yeast recommendations, choose your preferred kit option above and then select the drop-down menu under “Yeast Options”. For more info, click on the recommended yeast(s) below in the “You Might Also Need” section below. All grains will come milled, unless you select unmilled base malts.

Stainless Draft Coil
50' x 3/8" coil manufactured in our metal shop. When compared with 5/16" coils that are usually used to make draft boxes, the 3/8" coil holds more beer, cools faster, yet because the resistance is less the beer can be pushed through the lines with less CO2 pressure. Less applied CO2 pressure means the beer does not overcarbonate and foam wildly if a keg is left on tap for longer than an afternoon. Overcarbonation can be an issue for homebrewers or beer drinkers who are using a draft box for an overnight party or weekend. 8 1/2" wide x 10" tall. 304 grade stainless steel

When not under pressure, it is perfectly safe to transfer wort into the tank below 131°F or to use hot liquids below this temp for cleaning. When under pressure, make sure to keep your fermentation temperature below 95°F and keep the fermenter in an environment that is below 95°F ambient. This is especially important when fermenting with kveik yeast. These strains are known to ferment hot if no temperature control is being used. Exceeding the temperature rating may compromise the tank, leading to a shorter life span or sudden failure to maintain pressure. Even with proper use, we recommend replacing the tank every two years. Care Instructions Normal wear and tear may lead to stress marks or other potential points of failure when the tank is used under pressure. We recommend visually inspecting the unit for signs of wear every 6-12 months, and conducting a hydro test every 2 years. The hydro test process is simple: Fill the tank to the brim with water Replace the Red PRV with a Green PRV rated to 4.5 BAR or higher Pressurize the tank to 4 BAR (58 psi) Check for leaks, then replace the Red PRV when finished If leaks or potential points of failure are found, replace the tank before you continue using pressure with your FermZilla. In general, we do not recommend leaving products like PBW or StarSan soaking in the tank for more than an hour. Extended soaks have the potential to degrade the PET material and shorten the lifespan of the tank. KegLand Part number: KL25898

Duotight Flow Control Ball Lock Quick Disconnect (QD) | Beverage Out | Adjustable Flow Rate | 8 mm Duotight
If you want an easy way to balance your beer lines, this is the way to do it. One of the benefits of Flow Control disconnects is you don't need to rely on the small ID or line length to apply flow resistance. Rather than adjusting your line length or size, simply apply additional restriction directly on the Quick Disconnect (QD). This is perfect for people who want to serve a large range of beverages with differing carbonation levels without having to customize each line. Now with the added benefit of Duotight fittings built in. Please be aware that even in the fully open position these FC disconnects do have some inherent flow resistance so you should use either shorter line or larger ID line that you would when compared with traditional ball lock disconnects. The humble plastic ball lock disconnect has been around a long time and is used by countless homebrewers around the world. Despite the extensive use they have seen little to no innovation for decades and KegLand wanted to change this. Enter the Duotight Ball Lock QD. The integrated Duotight design means you can connect your beer and gas line directly, easily and reliably with no need for additional fittings or clamps. It is a robust and super compact design that is incredibly easy to assemble and disassemble, making cleaning and sanitizing an absolute breeze! Made from highly chemical resistant materials with stainless springs and ball bearings (no cheap ABS plastics here) this baby is extremely resistant to commonly used chemicals such as phosphoric based sanitizers and caustics. The incredibly small form factor allows for easy stacking of kegs. The new cap design ensures a pressure seal with just hand tightening and it can be completely taken apart for cleaning with no tools required. Features: Ball Lock Quick Disconnect - Bev Out Adjustable flow rate Direct connect EVABarrier tubing Compact design won't interfere with keg stacking Made from highly chemical resistant materials Dissamble by hand for quick and easy cleaning
