This yeast is from one of the oldest stout-producing breweries in the world. It’s great for many beer styles but really shines in malty British styles such as stouts, porters and brown ales. Speidel Braumeister Plus Electric Brewing System - 20L/5.2G (110V)

    1 review

The original all-in-one brewery still made in Germany! 5" touchscreen is easy to use and guides you through the brewing process Brew all-grain beer inside your home—no gas burner needed Built-in cooling jacket eliminates the need for awkward wort chillers 2R interior stainless finish with electropolished heating coil The "Mercedes®" of brewing systems. When you want the best, this is it. Never ceasing to improve upon the original Braumeister design, Speidel has taken this unit a step further with the new 5" touch screen control panel. The new automatic control system brews with your custom recipes and guides you through the brewing process. Now with integrated WiFi and bluetooth as standard, recipes and software updates can be synced automatically. Speidel Braumeister continues to be the all-in-one brewing system for brewers that demand the highest quality. The Braumeister is the original all-in-one, electric all-grain brewing system. Designed and patented in Germany over a decade ago, it has since been copied around the world. Still made in Germany today by Speidel, a 5th generation German stainless steel manufacturer, the Braumeister is the Mercedes® of brewing systems. Speidel made a decision to not try and compete on price with the rest of the all-in-one machines that are made in China. They actually went the opposite direction improving upon the Braumeister many times. They've improved the control screen, added dimpled jackets to eliminate wort chillers, improved the programming and functionality, and created an online myspeidel.com control center along with multiple other small refinements. They also created a host of optional equipment to further enhance your brewing. If you appreciate really well-made equipment, the Braumeister is for you. It is the best of the best. The welded on dimpled jacket eliminates the need for a separate wort chiller and also opens the door for using the Braumeister as a temperature controlled fermenter—see the video below. These jackets have 1" male threading, and aside from cooling, a Dump Valve tap has been added to the base of the unit to make emptying and cleaning that much easier. Advantages of the Braumeister First, the system has a small footprint and is powered by electricity, allowing you to brew inside, in a confined space, without the inherent dangers of using an open flame. Secondly, this unit is very easy to use as you mash the grain and then boil the wort in the same vessel. We also love the automation and control. Before you brew you set the controller with the different temperatures you wish to attain (advice is given on what to set) and the built-in heating element and pump do the rest. The Braumeister is especially ideal for step-mashing, which many brewers think is the preferred way to brew lager beers. Based on the results of lagers we have brewed on this machine, MoreBeer! agrees. Unlike other brew systems that have the temp probe located at the bottom, the Braumeister's temperature sensor was installed inside the middle bar. This means that the temperature is measured directly in the malt and is even more accurate in combination with the new software adjustments. Walking Through the Brew Process On Brew Day, you are going to assemble your Braumeister with the mash tub and bottom screen. You will fill the unit with filtered water to a notch on the center post - easy. The water resistant touchscreen controller reads in °C or °F, and you can set it to different temperatures you wish to reach. Advice is given in the manual. When your water is the correct temperature, a beep alerts you to add grain. Stir in your grain, lock down the top screen (so now there is a screen on the bottom and the top) and start the mash. During the mash wort is constantly recirculated through the grain bed from the bottom up, reverse of most all-in-one systems. The liquid wort flows up through the mash and then cascades down between the mash tub and the outer wall of the Braumeister. There it is collected by the pump and pushed back through the mash. At any time, you can pause the pump from the controller screen. Speidel upgraded their pump to be detachable for easy cleaning and maintenance between batches. When the mash is complete, another beep will alert you to remove the entire mash tub, which sets on top of the Braumeister to drain for a period of time. At this point you can choose to rinse the mash with hot water or to just add water directly the wort. Push another button and the boil starts and will run for however long you program it. When the boil stops, begin chilling your wort. Features: Brew in the tightest of spaces, anywhere in your home with a small footprint of counter space Easy to handle brewing and cleaning, malt pipe slides up with little effort Patented malt pipe technology. Wort is internally pumped from the bottom to the top for effective and gentle recirculation. No pipes are awkwardly mounted to the side of the kettle Clean, contactless cooling by running cold water through the welded-on cooling jacket. No need for sanitizing and storing a separate immersion wort chiller The pump is accessible beneath the unit and can be detached for cleaning and maintenance Braumeister stays up-to-date with regular software updates via an integrated WiFi module myspeidel.com syncs with the digital controller on your Braumeister Enter a recipe in myspeidel.com, choose a recipe from the community of other users, or design a recipe in Beersmith and import it to myspeidel.com and it will come up automatically on your Braumeister's touchscreen controller Edit your recipe on the fly in the touchscreen controller and it will automatically update on myspeidel.com When the brew day is over, ferment your beer inside the Braumeister, using the cooling jacket to control the fermentation temp Technical Specifications for 20L Braumeister: 110V - comes with a NEMA 5-20 plug. You may need to install the corresponding wall socket or use an adapter. Produces 23L of wort, which is about 20L of finished beer Controllers can store up to ten recipes for easy repeat brewing! 2,000-watt built-in heating capacity 23-watt pump 110V, 50-60Hz, 18.2A Max Grain Capacity: 13.2 lbs Max Fill Level: 25L (Upper Marking on Center Rod) 23.6" H x 15.7" Ø 33 lbs

  • BrewBuilt X-Series Kit for Fermenting Under Pressure - 2022 BrewBuilt X-Series Kit for Fermenting Under Pressure - 2022

BrewBuilt® Kit for Fermenting Under Pressure

    1 review

This is a no compromise, professional level hardware kit that allows for safe pressure fermentation in an X-Series Uni Conical. If you plan to ferment, or to seal/cap an active fermentation, in your BrewBuilt X-Series Conical you must use this Brewbult Kit for Fermenting Under Pressure.  During fermentation Krausen can potentially clog the PRV that is built into the lid.  The hardware in this kit is the same as what you will find on a commercial Unitank. This is not an all-in-one unit. All-in-one units are cheaper but not as safe. Component Break Down: Commercial Grade Spunding Valve - The kit is built around a commercial Spunding Valve that allows you to set your desired fermentation pressure. if that ferementation pressure exceeds your set point, it will blow off any excess pressure from the X-Series Conical. The clear cup holds liquid acting as an airlock and allowing krausen to exit. The Spunding valve is also adjustable. Pro Grade PRV (Pressure Relief Valve) - On all brewery pro tanks, a tri-clamp PRV is always installed in addition to a Spunding Valve. This is because a Spunding Valve still has the potential to clog. The pro PRV has a very wide interior body as to reduce the risk of clogging. The PRV is non-adjustable and comes preset to relieve pressure at 15 PSI. Sealed Pressure Gauge - This is a liquid filled, sealed gauge. The bottom of the gauge is a thin plate of stainless that moves up or down in relation to pressure in the tank. That causes the oil in the gauge to compress which is what the gauge reads. When properly sealed, there is no way krausen can get into this gauge and cause a false reading. However, it is important to ensure the guage is sealed, otherwise, there is a risk that krasuen clogs the gauge giving you an inaccurate reading.  Foam Axe - Foam Axe is a silica-based krausen cutter used by commercial breweries to reduce krausen blow off while increasing foam retention in your beer. Using Foam Axe is required for every batch fermented under pressure, but we recommend it for all batches fermented in your X-Series Conical. Foam Axe helps keep krausen out of PRVs and other hardware which is always a good idea. When your BrewBuilt Uni is outfitted with a Kit for Pressure Fermentation there are three devices for relieving pressure, including the PRV that is always built into the lid, the adjustable Spunding Valve, and the pro grade PRV.   Includes: Commercial Grade BrewBuilt Spunding Valve 1 BAR (0.3–14.5 psi) Hand Adjustable Blowoff 1.5" tri-clamp Connection Made from 304 stainless steel with plastic liquid cup Tri-Clamp Pressure Relief Valve (PRV) Calibrated to 1 BAR (14.5 psi) 1.5" tri-clamp connection Made from 304 stainless steel Sealed, Liquid Filled Pressure Gauge Calibrated to 2 BAR (30 psi) 1.5" tri-clamp connection Made from 304 stainless steel CellarScience Foam Axe Krausen Reducer Reduces krausen build up inside the fermenter Connection Hardware (3) 1.5" T.C. Clamps (3) 1.5" EPDM T.C. Gaskets   WARNING! The use of the BrewBuilt Kit for Fermenting Under Pressure is required for performing Pressure Fermentations in your X-Series conical. The PRV built into the lid is not designed to be the only release point during a pressure fermentation.  WARNING! The use of Foam Axe is required to reduce krausen (foam from fermentation) production in the fermenter.  WARNING! Always release pressure, then remove the PRV built into the lid to ensure the conical is completely depressurized before removing fittings or the lid clamp. Failure to do so can result in personal injury.

  • Sale -20% FermZilla - 30L PET All Rounder Replacement Tank FermZilla - 30L PET All Rounder Replacement Tank

Replacement PET Tank for 30L All Rounder FermZilla

    1 review

Replacement PET Tank for 30L FermZilla All Rounder. Normal wear and tear may lead to stress marks or other potential points of failure when the tank is used under pressure. We recommend visually inspecting the unit for signs of wear every 6-12 months, and conducting a hydro test every 2 years. The  hydro test process is simple: Fill the tank to the brim with water Replace the Red PRV with a Green PRV rated to 4.5 BAR or higher Pressurize the tank to 4 BAR (58 psi) Check for leaks, then replace the Red PRV when finished If leaks or potential points of failure are found, replace the tank before you continue using pressure with your FermZilla. In general, we do not recommend leaving products like PBW or StarSan soaking in the tank for more than an hour. Extended soaks have the potential to degrade the PET material and shorten the lifespan of the tank.   KegLand Part Number: KL15219 NOTE: FermZilla tanks are marked with a manufacturer’s “expiry date”. This does not indicate that the tank is bad after this date; it simply indicates that a hydro test may be in order. 2 years after production and every 2 years after first use, it is recommended that the tank be hydro tested to ensure the tank is holding pressure. Hydro test instructions are available here. You will also need the D1072 Green PRV to perform the test. If you do not plan to pressurize the fermenter, the test is not necessary.

  • CellarScience - Dry Yeast - HORNINDAL Kveik Ale - PLACEHOLDER CellarScience - Dry Yeast - HORNINDAL Kveik Ale - PLACEHOLDER

CellarScience® HORNINDAL Dry Yeast | Kveik Ale | Premium Beer Yeast

Traditional farmhouse yeast from Hornindal, Norway. This kveik yeast strain ferments quickly at higher temperatures with superb flocculation. Produces a consistent flavor profile with prominent stone fruit & tropical fruit notes. Every batch is PCR tested to ensure quality. Dosage: One sachet is enough to treat a 5–6 gallon batch. When calculating for larger batches, use at a rate of 2–3 grams per gallon of wort. We recommend rounding up by one full sachet rather than measuring out the yeast exactly. Direct Pitch or Rehydrate: HORNINDAL yeast is designed to be sprinkled directly onto the surface of your wort with no oxygenation required in the initial fermentation. Our aerobic growth process makes this possible by creating dry yeast with high viability and high sterol levels. HORNINDAL yeast is pre-loaded with essential nutrients to ensure a successful, complete fermentation. While not required, some brewers prefer to rehydrate yeast. To hydrate yeast, first, sanitize the yeast brick and scissors. Use 10 grams of sterilized tap water between 85-95°F (29-35°C) mixed with 0.25 grams of FermStart per gram of yeast. Sprinkle yeast on the water. Allow the slurry to stand undisturbed for 20 minutes, then swirl. Use small amounts of wort to adjust to within 10°F (6°C) of wort temperature before pitching. Ferment between 73-98°F (23-37°C). Optimum Fermentation Temp: 73-98°F Flocculation: Medium-High Alcohol Tolerance: 14% ABV Similar Strains: WLP520, OYL061 Gluten-free

  • 50 Gallon BrewBuilt Kettle Gen 2 with 4 x T.C. Fittings 50 Gallon BrewBuilt Kettle Gen 2 with 4 x T.C. Fittings

    BrewBuilt® Brewing Kettle | 1.5" Tri-Clamp | Quad Port | 50 Gal.

This unique kettle with four tri-clamp ports was developed for the BrewBuilt electric kettle line as it requires two ports for two electric heating elements. The kettle is offered without fittings so you can rig it up with whatever accessories you see fit. The BrewBuilt Pro Brewing Kettle is built for even more versatility than the standard T.C. kettle. A third and fourth tri-clamp port are offset from the front and ready to accept an electric heating element, whirlpool return valve, or any other accessory that you want to incorporate with the kettle. Handles are located at the front and back, rather than either side, saving you space when building out a horizontal system and will keep fittings pointed away from you regardless of which side you pick up the kettle from. BrewBuilt T.C. kettles were designed to keep pace with the ever-evolving world of brewing technology. Tri-clamp fittings are standard fare in professional breweries, and they’ve been widely adopted in homebrewing as T.C. fermenters and pumps become more affordable and widely available. Tri-clamp fittings, also known as Tri-clover, allow you to make a sanitary connection that is free of nooks and crannies for contaminants to take hold. They are much easier to break down for cleaning compared to threaded connections, and they don’t require Teflon tape to make a watertight seal. T.C. fittings and accessories also give you the distinct advantage of being able to clean in place (CIP), so you don’t need to break down your entire system after every brew day. This kettle comes without fittings so you can add whatever tri-clamp accessories best suit your needs. These days homebrewers have a lot of strong choices when it comes to their kettle purchase. BrewBuilt has adopted a modern feature set designed to make the brew day easier. Silicone handle and lid grips help prevent burns. Etched internal volume markings make filling the kettle for mash or boil simple. Welded valve and thermometer ports are leak-free and never require maintenance--no more discovering worn gaskets on brew day. Sealed handle rivets are strong and allow the entire kettle to be filled if necessary. And perhaps best of all, it features the signature BrewBuilt notched lid with a silicone plug that allows the lid to be in place while using immersion chillers or an Ultimate Sparge Arm. These kettles are truly designed for brewing. MaltZilla Motorized Grain Mill - Complete Kit

    3 reviews

Everything you need to get right down to business with the MaltZilla Motorized Grain Mill! This complete kit includes the MaltZilla Grian Mill, Aluminum Hopper, PPE Base Board, and 110V Power Supply. The long awaited MaltZilla is finally here. A large amount of research and development has gone into designing, manufacturing and testing the MaltZilla Diamond Mill. With an integrated 24V Motor, the MaltZilla is powerful enough to chew through popping corn kernels with ease. The mill works on voltages from 12-30V DC, and the higher the voltage the faster the mill will spin, although 24V is recommended for optimum speed and grist results. The included power supply is straight forward, and allows you to plug the unit into a standard 110V power socket.   Knurled Steel vs. Diamond Coated Rollers Historically other mill manufacturers have made grain mills from steel. In some better quality mills they harden the steel so that the knurling stays sharp for longer and continues to draw grain. But even the knurling on hardened steel will go blunt and this reduces the mills ability to draw grain well. Other manufacturers attempt to solve this problem by using geared rollers so the rollers grab the grain slightly better or using 3 rollers whereby the first two rollers with a larger gap force the grain into the third roller. These options in our opinion do not solve the real issue, which is that all of these steel rollers go blunt especially if hard grains are used like wheat or corn.   In a commercial setting, it’s not uncommon to send the rollers off to a metalworking factory to re-sharpen and re-knurl, however, this is often uneconomical and a hassle to do. For smaller homebrew customers they might just end up throwing the mill away and purchasing a new one.   The MaltZilla Diamond Mill is quite a different mill design, and it’s the first in the world to use diamonds impregnated into the surface of the roller. Even after many tons of grain are processed through the mill, the diamond surface will stay just as sharp as it was on day one. The sharpness of the diamonds really draws grain exceptionally well and even when hard products are used, such as corn, the diamond rollers simply smash it to pieces.   Sheer Instead of Chop Most mills require aggressive knurling to push into the grain and “chop” the grain as it passes through a tight gap, which means your grains are often chopped in half. The MaltZilla works on a different principle and gap setting is not as critical.  The MaltZilla uses impregnated diamonds to grip the surface of the kernel and the friction of pulling the grain through the gap causes a sheering action. When set up correctly, the sheering action can leave the entire husk intact, reducing the chance of stuck sparge and improve efficiency, while still opening the husk enough that the entire contents of the kernel is available to the mashing process. The 70mm diameter rollers are double the diameter of many other mills.  The large diameter significantly improves the crush and assist in drawing the grain in better.   Integrated Motor You generally would not purchase a car without an engine, so why would you purchase a grain mill without a motor? Milling grain has an optimum RPM— too slow and it will take you a long time, too fast and you will end up with excessive powder. The hand crank is really a pain in the backside and using a drill simply doesn’t give you the speed control that you require and often results in burning out your drill. The MaltZilla has an integrated motor with a very constant RPM putting out optimum RPM with an integrated gearbox. The high torque and sealed construction make it ideal for a brewing environment, as the motor is well sealed from moisture and grain dust.   The motor is seamlessly integrated into the side body of the mill. Being DC, the motor is safer than higher voltage AC especially in an environment where washing down the area with a hose is likely to happen. The DC motor is also reversible so the direction of spin can be changed based on the polarity. This is particularly useful for over-mount and under-mount installation.   Kit Includes: MaltZilla Grain Mill (12-30V DC) Power Supply (110V) Polypropylene base baord Aluminum hopper 6-gallon plastic bucket 17-blade gap thickness measuring tool Please note: This mill is designed for use with brewing grains only. It will not work for cracking whole kernel corn.
