BSP vs. BSPP BSP (or BSPT) fittings have a tapered thread and require teflon tape to form a seal between the male and female fitting. BSP fittings are generally intended to be used with their counterpart of the same thread type. ONLY 1/2" and 3/4" BSP fittings are compatible with US-standard NPT fittings of the same size. This 2" tri-clamp ball valve is full port and completely disassembles for easy sanitation. It is perfect for inserting a mixer into a wine tank or for mixing hops in a beer tank. No tools are required for disassembly. Simply turn the valve to the closed position, remove the 3.5" tri-clamp, remove the bottom thumb screw (drain), and tilt the ball out of the socket by rotating the top towards you. A great way to set up a homemade Mash Tun.
