Fire In The Hole | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | Mini Mash

Spicy flavor and firm bitterness supported by a velvety-smooth body Includes Magnum and Columbus hops Estimated ABV: 6.6% Estimated IBUs: 40-44 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer You've never had this beer before, and, until very recently, neither had we. Imagine: a sexy, red color, spicy flavor, velvety-smooth body, terrific head, plus an aroma you could eat, all wrapped up with a firm bitterness. How did we do it? The creative shotgun approach! Continually throw enough stuff into the mix and, eventually, you score a win like this one. We started with a basic recipe similar to our famous Irish Red, but added Rye as well. A brash move? You bet! But we didn't stop there. We've added Magnum and Columbus hops everywhere, including into the carboy for dry hopping. If you want to go for a Home Run, add 1oz of the included French Oak chips after the first week of fermentation. Makes 5 gallons Estimated Original Gravity: 1.067-71 SRM (Color Range): 19 IBUs: 40-44 Estimated Alcohol Percentage: 6.6% Our recipe kits DO NOT include grain bags, yeast or priming sugar. Witbier Belgian Ale | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | Mini Mash

Light, crisp flavor spiced with Bitter Orange Peel and Coriander Includes 100% Saaz hops Estimated ABV: 6% Estimated IBUs: 16-20 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer A unique Belgian Ale with moderate bitterness from early kettle additions of Saaz hops. This beer is spiced with Bitter Orange Peel and Coriander, which lends a surprisingly pleasant flavor and aroma. The grain bill, (grain portion of recipe) includes Oats and Flaked Barley, which, when combined with a very special non-flocculating yeast leaves a cloudy, almost-white appearance. Hence, the name wit (white in Flemish). This is a very refreshing style that has a light, crisp flavor. There are some phenolic flavors as well, as you would find in some Belgian Abbey Ales or even German Hefeweizen. Hoegarden and Celis White are commercial examples that represent this style. • Kit (Extract) - Belgian Ale - PLACEHOLDER Kit (Extract) - Belgian Ale - PLACEHOLDER

Belgian Ale | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | Extract

Belgian Ale will give you a full roundup of phenolic, fruity, clove, plum, and banana flavors Includes Perle and Saaz hops Estimated ABV: 5% Estimated IBUs: 32 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer Belgian ales are really about creating a simple yet elegant malt base upon which the unique Belgian yeast strains can create their wonderful, complex flavors. This Belgian Ale is their equivalent of our pale ale in alcoholic strength and body. The difference is that the hops are very subdued and only complimentary where as in many American beers hops can create a majority of the flavor profile. One is not better than the other just different, and we love diversity in beer. Terms used to describe Belgian Ales include phenolic, fruity, with the occasional clove, plum, and banana flavors coming through. Sometimes you just have to try one to understand. In the Dubble and Triple you will have some higher alcohol flavors coming through. This version is less alcoholic and highly drinkable. Any of the four Belgian yeast strains that we carry from Whitelabs could be used in any of the Belgian recipes. They are all excellent in their own right. The malt extract for this kit is made entirely from our German Pilsner Malt, giving it authentic European flavor. We use turbinado sugar to help up the alcohol and dry out the beer during fermentation. The extract version of this kit does NOT include grains. Most of the flavor from this beer is derived from the yeast and fermentation. Makes 5 gallons Estimated Original Gravity: 1.049-53 SRM (Color Range): 4  IBUs: 32 Estimated Alcohol Percentage: 5% Our recipe kits DO NOT include grain bags, yeast or priming sugar. American Pale Ale II | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | Extract

    1 review

Our OG American Pale Ale recipe with the malt and hop character kicked up a notch Includes Magnum, Cascade and Willamette hops Estimated ABV: 5.3% Estimated IBUs: 57 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer Looking for the perfect American Pale Ale to share with friends this summer? Do you like a Pale Ale with a rich malt flavor and a ton of hop character but without an overwhelming bitterness? Then the Pale Ale II should be your next brew. We took our American Pale Ale recipe and upped the malt, threw a ton of hops in the finish for flavor, but kept the bitterness the same. We think toning down the perceived bitterness is one reason we consistently get great reviews from brewers sharing this with friends. Keeping it real: Part of the success of this kit is blending a lot of Willamette and Cascade hops in the finish. This isn't a wild, new or crazy idea... this is old school. Cascade and Willamette were the hops that helped put craft brewing on the map in the 1980's. The reason they are still so popular... they make a damn good beer. Truly delectable and different yet still keeping it real. • Kit (Extract) - Scotch Ale - PLACEHOLDER Kit (Extract) - Scotch Ale - PLACEHOLDER

Scotch Ale | 5 Gallon Beer Recipe Kit | Extract

An extremely malty beer that really emphasizes malt over hops Includes a single addition of Northern Brewer hops Estimated ABV: 8% Estimated IBUs: 19-23 Makes 5 gallons of finished beer An extremely malty beer that really emphasizes malt over hops. Most styles are more balanced, which means the bitterness of the hops is proportional to the sweetness of the malt. Not true with our Scotch ale where the deep malt flavor is king. Scotch Ale yeast strains typically ferment well in the low-to-mid 60's and leave behind very few esters or fruity flavors, which further emphasizes the malt. This recipe has over 11 lbs of malt extract and only one ounce of hops! Makes 5 gallons Estimated Original Gravity: 1.082-86 SRM (Color Range): 18-19 IBUs: 19-23 Estimated Alcohol Percentage: 8%   Our recipe kits DO NOT include grain bags, yeast or priming sugar. To find our yeast recommendations, choose your preferred kit option above and then select the drop-down menu under “Yeast Options”.  For more info, click on the recommended yeast(s) below in the “You Might Also Need” section below. All included steeping grains will come milled.   Liquid Malt Extract (LME) vs. Dried Malt Extract (DME) MoreBeer! recipe kits are offered in both Liquid Malt Extract and Dry Malt Extract so that our customers can choose the format that best suits their needs and brewing style. LME is a viscous liquid, similar in consistency to maple syrup. In addition to being the more affordable option, many brewers find LME easier to handle than dry extract. DME is more condensed and comes in a powder format that is similar to baking flour. Although it’s a little more costly, DME is naturally lighter in color and stays fresher for longer. We highly recommend DME when brewing light colored beers.
