These are great corks for white wine.
They install easilly and have very consistent compression. The coating/binder used is very slippery and renders the corks "closed cell, inert" rather than "open cell and breathable". I wet my corks with KSO2 solution for easier install, added protection, and to start the expansion from wetting sooner. Regular natural corks will expel the KSO2 solution when compressed from the corking machine and the expellate will carry debris into the wine like paper hairs, brown colored water, and tiny cork particles - not best touch for the brilliant sterile-filtered wine, though not really noticeable afterwards.
I don't know why they're only rated for <2yrs ageing - they seem very inert and long lasting to me.
I've also tried the engineered plastic corks for white wine - one batch was great, but when i bought more, the compressive force was different and too much - maybe because of bottle difference, i'm not sure. The Molinas cirks in this review have no such issue.
I don't have space for a screwcap machine, otherwise i might prefer that for some types of whites.
