I've used a Catalyst Conical Fermentor for a number of years and always wished for something just a little better. Having now used the Anvil Crucible for two batches I can say this is better in a number of ways. The steep cone is a plus as is the bottom dump plus a larger capacity. The only thing that would improve the Crucible is having a way to see what's happening on the inside without unlocking the lid or trying to peep through the stopper hole. I realize this may either be impossible or boost the cost up too much. While I still have the Catalyst and may use it from time to time the Anvil Crucible is the best yet in the small budget friendly fermentor category. Cheers!
