Banjo Burner - High Pressure Propane

    Description

This cast iron wide-profile banjo burner is strong and efficient, topping our ratings in getting wort to a quick boil, while using the same amount or less of propane. Adjusted for efficiency this banjo burner produces around 70,000 BTU/hr, and in full, this banjo burner mode produces 100,000 btu.

Banjo burners can often times have issues when using with low flame output. We sourced and tested a number of different units, before settling on this one, which performs great at low output.

    • Uses 3/8" male flare fitting (included).
    • Comes with steel orifice plate for regulating airflow
    • The burner has a 9 7/8" diameter and is 14 3/4" long

This banjo burner requires a propane regulator to function properly. We recommend a Wind Guard with these units if brewing outdoors. If using indoors, you must have proper ventilation in the form of an overhead cooking hood.

        Well built

Built like a tank heavy. Nice wide even distribution of the flame. I think it will use less gas and give me the results I want.

I swapped out a set of jet burners for these because while the jets produce a lot of heat they roar like an F-16 when I had two going at the same time. Couldn't even have a conversation or listen to some music when I brewed. These on the other hand are so quiet I need to look to even see if they're on! Almost silent and close enough to the output as the jets for my 1/2 Bbl brewery that it doesn't matter. Absolutely love these.

        Burner Replacement

This was a perfect replacement for my Edelmetall burner that I have had for quite some time. Extremely happy with this purchase.

I really like this burner. It burns cleanly all the way from a gentle simmer to full blast doesn't leave any soot deposits on my brew pot. It brought my fifteen gallon all-grain mash to temp perfectly running at about half throttle.

Does this come with hardware to mount it?

        MoreWine

        No

        MoreWine

no it doesnt just the burner

        MoreWine

Yes I received bolts and washers to mount it to my burner frame.

        MoreWine

        It comes with mounting bolts

Mine didn’t come with any hardware you’ll have to maybe fabricate something to it

        MoreWine

No only the screws that fit the 5 bracket holes. Great burner though. I just bent some 3/16 x 1” and drilled holes. You can make it work if you really want to. I did and I’m really happy with it.

Will this fit my blichmann burner the model before the Hell Fire came out? It looks the same.

        MoreWine

This is the same burner with the same dimensions as the original Blichmann burner. You should have no problem replacing your current burner with this piece.

Can I use this burner with my existing 18 PSI regulator and does anyone know how close to the bottom of the pot to mount it?

        MoreWine

Hi Charles - This works with standard propane regulators. In concern to mounting we have these approximately 2.5" below the kettle on our Brew Sculptures. This allows for plenty of combustible air and efficient flame contact.

can I use this burner with natural gas?

        MoreWine

You can but you first need to install a conversion kit that changes the size of the orifice.

        MoreWine

Hi Robert yes you can. I have mine plumbed to natural gas connected by a flexible gas line that runs from the burner to a valve I installed in the solid line that supplies my furnace. You can buy the conversion kits for your burner online or at your local brew supple store. No more propane tanks to deal with! Good luck John

        MoreWine

No! because you need   the natural gas orifice!

        MoreWine

I don't know but high pressure and propane don't sound like it. if my tank doesn't have enough gas to push it it leaks out the vents in the venturi chamber I don't think gas has 10 lb. of pressure
