I use these for sparkling mead which like champagne will require bottles to take 6-7 ATMs pressure or 90 PSI.

The batch that I received are punted. They also hold high carbonation very well!

The bottoms are flat. At least the ones I bought were. The bottles are heavy and high quality. The only thing I struggled with is fitting them in my floor corker with the capper attachment because they are so tall. But they are really nice bottles.

The box has Made in Taiwan on the bottom. I’ve bought these twice and used corks and cages both times. They are not made to a standard crown size diameter if you were wanting to cap the caps never crimp completely. Corks will work with these but occasionally you might find a neck that is a little tight.

If you’re after the German-style flat-sided bottle these are similar.

I happen to use a bench style capper on all my bottles but have used other styles in the past. Although ymmv these cap like any regular beer bottle with regular (26mm) caps.

No I'm using a hand capper (Emily bottle capper) that allows to swap the blades for wider necks.

I use the same capper as I do for my 12 oz bottles (for beer). I don’t know for certain but it may be possible to use corks.

Not necessarily. if you have the Hand/Emily capper you can take a pair of needle-nose pliers and pull out/reverse the metal jaws. Hope that helps.

You can use one of the handheld cappers (red swing type) presuming they have the reversible plates. You'll want to look at the metal parts in the bottom part that grabs the neck of the bottle. They can be difficult to get out but they should be reversible for larger necks. Since they are cheap I have two one set for each style so I can switch back and forth easily in the same bottling run between bottle styles.

No they don't. And in fact I have had much better capping experiences using a hand capper with these bottles. Every hand capper's metal neck grips (I'm sure there's a technical name for those pieces) can be reversed to accommodate the bigger lip on the bottle.
