I ordered Qty 2 of the regulator. What I found on both are that the removable gas fitting that come with the valve are undersized. When the tubing are bent I can hear air escape.
Functionally these are fine but not comfortable to use. The rubber molding is a harder material and leaves harsh edges around the handles. The combination causes the sensation of a sharp edge on the handles when picking up a full keg. I will have to grind a little bevel into the handles to make these more comfortable to use. The lever on the lid is just big enough that it gets in the way of using the handle on the side it locks. Because of the size and design its really easy to grab it along with the handle. It more annoying than anything else but impacts usability to me. If these two things were fixed then these would be really nice kegs.
These work great. There are 2 things you need to know. 1) They are a bit short for normal operations unless it's specifically keg-to-keg. Double the length would be about right for closed transfers. 2) These are black to black (Beer out to Beer out). The have flared fittings though so can be swapped out easily. That's pretty much it! If you're looking for an alternative / custom setup I'd recommend checking out Duotight fittings / connectors and some EvaBarrier tubing. For an out-of-the-box keg to keg solution these are great!
I love the convenience of having beer ready 24 hours after racking from the fermenter! That said it has the minor issue of coming as seen in the pictures.... coiled. The hose is very stiff but can be straightened somewhat with some heat applied. It has a memory though so I doubt the bend will ever come out. No worries though since it doesn't affect the function. The issue with the rigid hose comes when attempting to insert this into a keg. With a fair amount of force (~10 lbs or so) the lid can be inserted but it's somewhat annoying. Not a dealbreaker considering the fact you get carbonated beer in 1 day vs 1 week. Also; as others have noted the carbonating process is a bit hit-and-miss at first if you follow the instructions. Instead of ramping up like is suggested I now hit it with 20 psi for an hour or two then drop it to 12-14 for the rest of the day. After 24 hours I set it to whatever level I want in the finished beer. Works great!
Works perfectly to seal the torpedo connector to tubing.
Seems to be working pretty good so far. Like other reviews said I had gas leaking from different points on each one during my first fitment and pressure tests. A few wraps of plumbers thread tape fixed it so I will definitely have a roll on hand. Other than that they seem to work out just fine on my 4L Oxebar mini kegs. Would have been five stars if not for the leaks without plumbers tape.
BOTH cartons (each came in its own box) arrived with gaping holes and tape-patches sections. No instructions nor gradation stickers which apparently are manually applied to the outside of the keg to indicate the volume of liquid. Online videos show gradation markings. Was happy to find that the floating dip tubes were still present.
I like these because they make kegging beer more affordable. I'll never unexpectedly run out of beer again.
I have no leaking issues with the two I purchased. I don't love the 90 degree connection between the liquid cap and the tube but it works. Requires assembly. So far it works.
I purchased this to upgrade my garage fridge to a continuous carbonated water dispensor. Using the Kegland KL10955 / Morebeer KEG455 and a korny keg I have had fresh soda water for over a week. My home water pressure is 55PSI max and my well kicks on at 30PSI. I set the CO2 pressure to 30psi. Which provides a decent carbonation bite. No more purchasing cans of soda water. Just note that the 1/4" OD line works well with the check valves but are too small for the 1/4" barb ball lock fittings.
I love these kegs. I purchased 2 for pressure fermentation. Never had a single issue with seals or leaks. I use a cip spray ball connected to a pond pump in a bucket with PBW for cleaning.
I tried using plumbers tape and keg lube to seal this issue but still leaks after a while replaced the whole thing and it also leaks gas changed to another RV and still leaks the reason I still give it 3 stars is because I use it as a counter pressure filler for the oxebar keg for dispensing this is not an option
Supplied Gasket between the bottom nut and main body is too soft for a firm connection on a metal surface (corny keg) it splays out too much when tightened down. Changed it to a gasket normally used for the top of a ball lock post and works very well.
I had to knock off two stars because I guess Blichman made some cuts and no longer sends their products in the nice branded hard shell cases. Totally not a deal breaker for me but a company of their size and industry respect should make that clear to long time customers who expect a certain level of quality from them. The improvements they made since the first quick carb are fantastic this product is still worth the purchase regardless of no case and great to have around when you just want to get something carbbed up quick.
Works great! No more filling the keg every week or two. Installed on a 1.5 gallon Torpedo keg and it is working fine.
Followed the directions and the youtube video from kegland (Morebeer's overseas counterpart). Works as advertised and I'm happy about that. I previously had a soda stream that was tied into my co2 system but this is a much cleaner setup and I don't have to deal with the soda stream bottles. My only gripe is the spraying mechanism. It was clearly pictured as being made of steel in both the online photo's and the video. It has now been replaced with a blue plastic version. This is really unfortunate as I expect it to eventually break (They actually provide you with a spare so it seems to be prone to failure at some point) and its also threaded in so if it does break it will be a pain to try to extract. I would have happily paid an extra for this item if they kept the original steel sprayer which likely would have never failed. They really should update the photo's and video to reflect this.
It's ok but not long enough should offer it in multiple lengths.
I tried a few keg-based bottle filler approaches before this one. This was pretty easy to use and has passed the ultimate test - maintains taste profile & carbonation while bottling. The pressure gauge and flare fittings are nice additions over the standard filler. The gauge is pretty high quality. The gauge makes the device lopsided - if it were better balanced I would have given 5 stars.
Works great. High quality!
The keg arrived quickly in fine condition thanks to a good shipping box. The keg has nice valves and good quality gaskets that should last a long time. I'll be purchasing a few more when they're on sale again. Made in Australia.
Worked well to carbonate fast. Finished with keg on c02.
works well but it tends to chew up o-rings
Although I rarely need the dip tube o-rings I still buy this kit for the posts and lid o-ring. I think the white o-ring might be a softer durometer than the black Buna-N o-rings.
I have had very good fortune using these to give me line balancing while keeping the lines short. I used to use expensive flow control faucets but I think these are a better alternative.
I don't know if I got a bad batch I purchased four of these along with five sets of 8MM EVA tubing four duotight gas QDs four 8MM fittings and four inline regulators. I was able to seat the tubing in every other item but these with ease. The gas QDs did take a bit more pressure to seat but these flow control QDs required the use of pliers to hold the tubing while I twisted and turned the QD to get the tubing to seat fully. Once seated I haven't noticed any leaks in the only one I've connected to a keg.
Really nice Keg lid that makes Dry Hopping easy. Glad I purchased it and will get 2 more.
This little beauty works as described. Good foam control. I like the duotight system. No leaks so far.
As described holds a charge and is brand new.
Holds more that 64 oz and works great
Great little regulator so many uses.
