Cascade | Whole Cone Hops

    Description

    • Dual purpose hops popularly used in American styles including Pale Ales and West Coast IPAs
    • Aroma Profile: Citrus, Tropical, Floral, Grapefruit, Grassy, Herbal, Pine
    • Alpha Acids: 4.5 – 7.0%
    • Whole cone hops are often preferred for dry hopping as they maintain contact while floating in the beer and are easier to remove
    • Adding whole cone hops directly to the mash tun is a great way to add flavor and help clarify wort

Cascade is the classic American hop that really started the hop craze. Defined by its citrus, and often more specifically, grapefruit flavor it is now sought out around the World. It is a true dual-purpose hop that can be used for bittering, at the end of the boil, or the fermenter. Used in so many craft brewed pale ales, but none more famous than Sierra Nevada's Pale Ale. You cannot go wrong using Cascade in all kinds of American style ales.

Whole cone hops are typically the preferred format for dry hopping as they maintain contact with the beer by floating, they are easier to remove than pellets and they add a unique character to the beer. Adding whole hop cones directly to the mash tun is also a great way to add an extra layer of hop flavor and to clarify your wort as it filters through the flowers.

        Excellent Quality

The quality of these hops was great super fresh. The packaging is first rate and really insured that they arrived fresh and stayed that way until I need to use them. Plus the price was more than affordable especially when ordering other item. Now I will just throw some hops on all my orders.

Best hops for a hop head

I love the great hoppy American beers and have several Randalls for infusing additional hop flavor and aroma into finished commercial beers. It is a treat worth exploring if hops are like candy to you.

        Great Hop Great Packaging

Okay I always feel bad buying hops from anyone other than my local Homebrew shop but these are way better. Cascade is awesome but it's the packaging and treatmetn of these hops that sets it aprt from getting it at a local shop. Right away I could tell I was getting a fresher product. The cones were nice and soft everything seemed fresh off the farm.

Great for dry opping with floral/citrus character

I dry hop with whole hops and these Cascade hops are great for dry-hopping pale ales IPAs etc. Used in bags it's easy to dry hop in the keg.

Great for dry hopping. I use regularly for my american-style IPA

Whole cascade hops make for lovely dry-hopping in my IPA recipe. I've used them several times and I'm always pleased with the aroma. Highly recommended for american pale ales of all kinds. Morebeer got the hops here in good time and in good condition.

        Nice flavor

Keep these guys out of your fermenter if you plan to keg. They work nice as a boil kettle filter but will clog the draft lines (obviously). So filter if using as dry hop.

        Great Keg Hops

Whole hops especially C hops are awesome for throwing in the keg. After the dryhop put a screen on the end of your keg diptube an ounce or two in the keg (purge with CO2) and rack the beer.

Great Quality Even Across the Country

But don't do like I did and use them without a bag. I dry-hopped a very nice IPA and while the beer was excellent cleaning out the carboy was not!
