This is a very hardy variety. Mine survived despite poor growing conditions - no direct sunlight and clay soil.

This is my second year growing rhizomes and first year trying Columbus. Didn't get until mid spring but went into the ground and grew strong even put out a few ounces of hops year one. Next season it's likely to be a monster! Grew at elev. 6500' ground ph about 7.0 temps 75-90 summer.

I could only get 1 out of 4 rhizomes to grow this year. There can be a variety of reasons why they didn’t sprout which include my own fault. But I have had success with 100% growth in years past. I purchased rhizomes from a different company last year and was shipped completely dead stock. I keep that in mind when purchasing from anybody. Also I was shorted 1 rhizome in my order. Not sure if Morebeer considered one of them as 2 due to size. Nothing to get worked up over! I will just baby my surviving rhizome.

Happy with shipping happy with how fast the plant broke the soil surface. We'll see if it's true that hops won't produce cones in Hawaii. Aloha!

Growing in pot in central Florida. Ordered Columbus chinook and cascade. Columbus sprouted first and is 3 ft long a month after shipping. Two bines now with side arms.

Multiple buds starting on the two rhizomes. Already popping up through the soil. Great clippings!!!!

Put this guy in a Sub Irrigated Pot and they are doing great.

USPS took 6 days to travel the 70 miles from MoreBeer's Concord CA warehouse to my house in Modesto with detours through Oakland San Francisco and Sacramento along the way according to the tracking info all locations farther away from my house than Concord.. Thankfully the Rhizomes I bought all sprouted but I highly recommend paying the extra few bucks for non-USPS delivery of a live plant if you want to get it in the ground quickly.

I bought a half dozen rizomes a couple of years ago and I thought that most likely they would not grow in our hot texas climate. I planted them on the North side of the house and by the middle of March they were 1 1/2 feet tall. I am planning to move West in a few years and I'll be ordering 2 or 3 dozen to easily grow in an even better climate. MoreBeer Rocks Chuck

Grew last year in a pot. Gree very nice smelling cones. Didn't actually brew with them last year. Plants survived winter and have popped back up this year.

I ordered 5 rhizomes all different varieties. The first one to sprout took about a week and a half and the last one took over a month. All of the plants are doing great! It's been about two months and some of them are already 2 feet tall!!!! I give them each a good watering each night and I swear I can see them grow about a inch everyday! They are beautiful and I can't wait to harvest them. I love coming home to them! It is very exciting. Great buy!

I ordered 1 Columbus rhizome in early April. I received the package quickly and it was healthy and budding. I planted within a week and it has already put up 3 healthy shoots within the first week. I live in USDA zone 6b. Couldn't be happier!

These monsters are now in their second year and growing strong. The first year I had enough for late addition adds that complimented a great blonde ale. Now the second year should be enough for a Fresh SMaSH beer!

I planted two of these recently and they are both doing well. I planted mine quickly after they arrived. I would recommend buying these if you want to grow your own hops.

These Rhizomes started quickly and are growing great.

It grew but I'm not sure I have the right climate for these hops (Florida panhandle) but I loved the thought of using my own homegrown hops!

I ordered 4 types of hops - 2 of them the cascade being one of the varieties is growing despite the poor condition it arrived in.

This thing started growing vertical in less than 3 days and is already making its way well out of the soil. Can't wait to bitter with homegrown Columbus!

Just received 5 rhizomes of the Columbus about 3 weeks ago. Planted a few days later about 6 inches down. 4 of them are already having shoots come out of the ground and it's only May 2nd! Just might have to expand my hops garden now.
