I gave this one star in another review because the bottom was not flat but I should have waited until I reached out to MoreBeer. They said these are supposed to be flat and are sending my a new one. I tried to edit or delete my other review but there's not an option to do this. I appreciate MoreBeer's customer service!

Not much to say. It’s a nice big flask. For high gravity beers where you’ll want 2L of starter this is a nice option because you can boil your wort right on the stove top in the flask and then stir by hand or put on a stir plate after it cools.

Perfect size to make a 2L starter

The flask does not have a flat bottom which can be an issue with the stir bar sliding off. On a simple water test the stir bar stayed in place; however I have yet to try it with a starter. On a more positive note the flask arrived well packaged and in good condition.

The 3000ml flasks that are currently being shipped have a concave (not flat) bottom. If you intend to use a stir plate this is not the flask for you. Otherwise the flask I received is sturdy and without defects. Mike from Customer Service was professional and assisted me with the return.

I used this to make a 2.4L starter and still had plenty of headroom. Note that a #10 stopper fits well not a 10.5 as suggested in the Q&A section.

I just unpacked and cleaned 2 of these. They are very high quality thick walled flasks. I will put them to the test!
