        Too large for what I hoped to do

        Really too large. I was also surprised that the tube separates from the base - happened at a very inopportune time.

        Is this hydrometer jar made of plastic or glass?

        Plastic. FWIW I bought one about a year ago. It leaks at the base. I thought about sealing it with epoxy but it's so large that it isn't useful to me anyway.

        Plastic! It’s also massive there is another smaller one that fits ASTM hydrometers perfectly (larger than standard but smaller than this one)

        I believe it is plastic. Been awhile since I used it as I switched to a tilt hydrometer which doesn’t require a sample to be drawn off and sends the info I need to my phone. It is a good product as I recall but I’m lazy and if I can get the info without a sample being drawn and can follow the fermentation process in real time I’m all for it.
