This is a very nice capper. Previously using an ANVIL bench capper which did not work well at all caps deformed. Purchased a KingCrimp go-no go gauge for capped bottles and the GRIFO capped bottles pass the requirements while capped bottles using the ANVIL bench capper do not. I am happy with the purchase of the Deluxe Bench Capper and will be tossing the ANVIL.

This capper is a beast. We use this in our commercial brewery for special bottle releases and it does not disappoint. It's sturdy and well-made and makes easy work of 15-20 cases of bottles at a time. As others have noted the packaging leaves a bit to be desired as we had to re-glue the magnet in the bell because it worked it's way out during shipping but other than that it is a workhorse.

Works great smooth to operate and I like the travel length to handle different height bottles with no re-adjustment.

Instructions say grease it every 30 bottles I did when I started and got so excited about how well it was working I forgot. Bottle #37 got stuck and broke trying to remove it. My bad.

It would be highly helpful and appropriate if More FLAVOR took a little more effort with packing equipment and provide product manual and adjustment procedure for bottle high and where corking handle should be for such.. Great machine a little weak on follow through information from retailer.

Worth the money all day

I used my Blichmann Beer Gun and filled and capped 2 cases from kegged beer. Unlike my past experiences with bottling this was actually fun and efficient. Great capper solid and dependable. Also has larger size head for the bigger bottles. Highly recommend.

Heavy duty. Awesome purchase

My first capper and likely my last. The build is solid and balanced. Capping is a smooth process aided by the two internal springs. I capped both 12 oz and 22 oz bottles in the same run and re-adjusting the height took only a minute. Though significantly more expensive than other cappers I was sold on the dual-sized cap heads which are machined and not stamped like those of the competition.

Really like this capper. Robust simple easy to adjust. Plastic butterfly and bench top cappers won’t get you crimped to commercial tightness. We've broken all plastic systems in less than 1000 bottles. This was our replacement and >2200 bottles later is rocking on. Will buy another right away because 2 is 1 out here. Important tips. Brand new out of the box the bell will grab some caps not release right away and then forcibly eject when you try to hand-twist it off. This is a break-in phenomenon as the smooth new bell is soft metal and can catch cap tines. Once you’ve done 2-3 dozen it stops and is then perfect. Like breaking in an engine. It will create small sharp metal filings that you should clean out of the area regularly. But the seal is awesome definitely below 28.57 mm and our leak rate (slow bubbling at >150F) in pasteurization is ? 0.2% or roughly 3 out of 1400. This is definitely worth the $.

Purchased this to reduce effort and increase throughput on a semi-automatic bottling line for our distillery. We use wooden and plastic topped t-cap corks for both our 375 and 750 mL bottles and this press works very well for both. From my research there are not really any manual capping machines for T-caps but we settled on this product after deciding the investment into a semi-auto machine did not justify the throughput improvement. Only issue we have had is that the arm height adjustment requires a full throw of the lever for our 750 mL Chicago style bottles but this is easily fixed by drilling an additional hole through the stand arm or milling a slot in the stand arm. Excellent quality works well for our application.

I didn’t expect the weight this thing has but what a well made capper! My wife and kids all wanted a turn with the beer bottles. They all loved it. The magnet which hold the bottle cap was a great idea too. Not a cheap product but something you can pass down to future brewers in the family.

This capper is a beast. Well priced quality construction and not to hard on the arm after 10 cases of champagne bottles.

Looks and feels robust easy to use operates smoothly. Let down by the flimsy bottle guide and very inadequate packaging - mine has some cosmetic damage. It's a bit pricey but it's a pleasure to use.

I was hesitant at first to purge this much on a bottle capper of all things. Especially with more or a movement to kegs and cans for home brewers. I’ve used the small awkward cappers in the past broke dozens of bottles in doing so. However after using this for magnums(29mm) caps and 500ml(27mm?) and I capped the whole batch in minutes with no breaking bottles missed caps etc. To change between cap sizes and height is incredibly easy. Beyond sturdy and almost feels over-engineered in the best way possible. I highly recommend this for anyone who’s in the fence about it. I’ve capped well over 200 bottles in the last month and am very impressed with this. Whether doing 750ml 500ml 12oz or magnums this capper is in a league of its own. Definitely and easily deserves this 5-star review.

This capper is beast. Using it for our small scale soda company and has helped increased production. Giving it 4 stars because it was not packed well and the bottom edge came damaged. This is not effecting its use just wish it didn't look used before we ever used it. Not sure this was MoreBeer's fault but it is a bummer regardless. Also it's blue and red not black and red like the image shows. Just a cosmetic note.

I think. Way better than my old wing capper. I took the magnet out because that was just annoying and lubed it up with olive oil. It was a great experience!

Italian made heavy metal. A bit pricy but you get what you pay for. Highly recommended.

I was on the fence about this for a couple years high dollar. The plastic one was twenty less... When I read the review that "if you sharpened this thing you could chop wood with it" That got to me. I like things with duel purpose. I was thrilled when I opened the box and found a tool that if you sharpened it you COULD chop wood use it as a canoe anchor with a little junkyard ingenuity jack up car or truck use it for ballast in the winter knock an intruder silly. I am sure there is some logging use for this! Not only could you use it for all these things but future generations would be set! FOREVER! This thing is so overbuilt I just laugh every time I look at it! It brings immense joy. It also caps beer bottles. If you are planning on only brewing a couple of batches there would be better choices this thing is for the long run.

This is the best most dependable capper I have used I wish I would have gotten it before I got calluses from the scissor ones

Really nice pc solid construction

I have a small microbrewery and we did our first two bottling runs with this. First run was 240 x 500 ml bottles. Second run was 420 x 500ml bottles. I was able to fill bottles with a beer gun in my right hand and cap with my left.

My hand capper started to wear out so I decided to go with a bench capper and after researching decided on this one. The price seemed a little high (at first) but I didn't want to ever have to buy another one. It arrived today and I am not disappointed...this capper is a beast! Solid heavy sturdy steel. If you sharpened the base you could probably chop a tree down with this thing. I tested capping a couple of bottles and it worked like a charm. It comes with two bells 1 x 26mm and 1 x 29mm and I think they are milled from aluminum or some alloy. You will want to lube the inside of the bell with some cooking spray or very light oil because the fit is very tight. The crimp was perfect...with my hand capper there always seemed to be a slightly off crimp that sometimes made me think I might not have a good seal (although that never happened). There is also a magnet to hold your cap although you'll want to align it a bit before pressing the cap. Many have commented on the cheap bottle aligner...I don't disagree but think it is adequate and you may not use it anyway. The picture on the MoreBeer site shows the base and mast is black but mine came in blue (see pic). I've never been one for style and more concerned with utility but if you're concerned about the look/feel you might ask about that. I can paint it if it really starts to annoy me. Finally you'll want to mount this to a bench or piece of wood as when you apply force to the handle you'll need to stabilize the base with your other hand (or while holding the bottle). A clamp would probably be good if you didn't want to mount it permanently. The only complaint I have is the capper was apparently shipped from Italy with the spare bell just floating around in the box and there was zero packing around the capper. Because this beast is virtually indestructible I guess I can understand but the bell did chip/scratch a couple of spots of paint...not a huge deal but a little packing/tape could prevent this issue. I can understand why MoreBeer wouldn't want to open every box to add packing because then folks might complain about having a used capper...likely not worth the hassle. Very impressed with this machine and highly recommended. Also impressed with MoreBeer customer service...I forgot to use a discount code when I ordered but emailed them about it and they applied the discount!
