Customers praised these gloves for excellent chemical protection and extended elbow-length coverage. "Changed my brew day" said one shopper. While most appreciate the heat resistance, some note thermal protection is limited with boiling water. Sizing runs large, which may affect fit and control for those with smaller hands.

Good heavy gloves not much thermal protection

Not bad at all plenty long and plenty strong but not much protection in the way of thermal protection. Love them regardless just gotta be careful when running a hot cleaning cycle

        Keeps hands safe

This lets me use hotter water to clean. Has a bit of a smell though. The fingers are a bit long on me it would be nice if there were additional sizes.

        Nice gloves WASH before use!

Good for squeezing my brew bag! Just wash them well with soap before you use them! Glad I did green color washed off. Washed them 3 times and then no more color.

        As advertised

The gloves work well for me. I wear a large glove and these a just a little big but stay on and keep the cleaning chemicals off my arms. If you have medium hands you probably wouldn't like the fit.

        Love these gloves

These gloves are awesome I have two pairs. Do a pretty good job buffering your hands from heat too.

        These gloves are great

Very handy on brew day or bottle processing. Keeps my hands out of Star San and PBW

        Solid sturdy gloves

I like the quality of these gloves and their up to the elbows length. I only wish that they came in several sizes rather than their makers taking a "one-size-fits-all" approach. These gloves are really large and even though I wear men's large winter gloves I find these brewing gloves too loose for good control.

        Brewers gloves

These were just what our home brewing son wanted. Longer to protect his arms when moving hot brewing pots.

        Not insulated

These are great to keep you dry but the heat of boiling water comes right through

        Longer sleeves good heat protection

I do BIAB and gloves-on I can squeeze the bag without burning the s***t out of my hands. In fact it only feels warm to the touch. These gloves have sleeves that go up to my elbows so if some hot wort drips down my arm the gloves protect me. These are longer and better insulated than the green Blichmann gloves I had been using. Every brewer should have a pair of these.

        Great product!!!

Great gloves. Used them at work and have no problem with 182 degree water. Also great for protecting my hands from the chemicals we use.

These gloves are awesome and practical

These gloves have really changed my brew day. 1) I can pour strike water without awkwardly putting towels between my hands and the kettle 2) I can reach into very hot wort if needed. For instance I dropped a screw driver in my boiling wort. Before the gloves I would have just cursed crossed fingers hoped for the best. Without thinking I donned a glove reached in and got it. 3) I can clean stuff up without dry cut up hands being the result. Strong PBW solution? No probs. Star San in bulk while bottling? No worries!

I would highly recommend. I have big hands and always have problems with gloves fitting. These are perfect. My wife has smaller hands and she uses them too so they are very functional.

        Great Gloves

I actually really like these. They are a little big for me but I just put a rubber band around my wrist and they work great. Very happy with them. They seem to be constructed well to.

At what temperature do these gloves break down? My previous gloves started to melt when I was scooping a sieve through the wort - that isn't an everyday task but is has happened once or twice ..

        MoreWine

I have had to retrieve items in boiling wort with no detriment to the glove - they are not insulated however...

wht is heat rating? does it go to 182 degrees?

        MoreWine

No you’ll burn your hands. They’ll be dry but burnt

        MoreWine

Only use mine for scrubbing. But have used like item before in creamery. Put on pair of cloth liner glove firsst then bring pot of water to 182 and stick your gloves hand in and find out.

        MoreWine

I doesn’t keep off heat you can feel it.

        MoreWine

They really aren’t for heat but are more for chemicals. You could try them.

        MoreWine

As other answers have noted these gloves will give you a slight protection against heat for a just a few seconds. We do not recommend using these gloves for digging through hot mashes or boils but they are wonderful for dealing with cleaning chemicals at lower temperatures.

        MoreWine

The glove can handle it but it will burn your hands the heat transfer quickly

        MoreWine

Not sure of heat rating but I use mine to handle my BIAB grain bags. They work well.

        MoreWine

These gloves don’t block heat at all. They are great for keeping the cleaning chemicals off the skin but are not meant to block heat. If you want that you’ll need to find a set of thick neoprene gloves from a restaurant supply store.

        MoreWine

Since the gloves are not insulated they will conduct heat and can burn your hands. I use mine to remove the hop bag from the boil kettle but make no mistake it is hot and I do it quickly and get my hand out of the glove. I hope this helps.

        MoreWine

I would bet the gloves would be fine but I had to stick my whole arm in the mash once and after about 10 seconds my whole arm was pink in color. It didn't burn me but it wasn't comfortable either The mash was about 156 degrees or so. Hope that helps your decision.

        MoreWine

I do not know the rating but I would NOT use these gloves in heat for any extended amount of time. You will get very very hot if you say stick them in a 150 degree mash tun. Will they be OK for a quick dip in and out? Yes. Under hot liquid for more than say 10-20 seconds and you will feel it!

What's the sizing like on these? I have pretty big hands for example I usually wear XXL in Mechanix gloves. Just wondering if these will fit...most "one size fits all" tend to be way undersized for me.

        MoreWine

As others have noted these gloves fit well for someone who typically uses between L and XXL gloves. For people with smaller hands than that our other brewing gloves come in a Medium and a Large size.

        MoreWine

These are quite big and fit my XXL (or bgger hands) with room to spare. In fact- they may be too big for small or medium sized hands.

        MoreWine

Just to answer my own question I ordered a pair after seeing Hondo's. They ended up fitting just fine. They're just barely snug but not uncomfortable at all.

        MoreWine

YOU SHOULD BE FINE MY GUYS THINK THEY ARE TOO BIG

        MoreWine

I have mongo mitts too and these easily fit my hands with a first layer of surgical gloves.

        MoreWine

They are not that spacious; I'd bet L in general. If you normally wear an XXL in work gloves I really doubt these fit.
