Comprehensive kit that "has everything you need" for beginning brewers. Customers said it's "easy to use and easy to clean" with "fast shipping." However, the fermenting bucket lacks a proper seal/gasket, causing airlock issues. The bottle capper may break bottles. Most items work but may need upgrading over time.

        All the equipment you need

I have never brewed before so I didn't want to start learning and then find out I was missing something. This has everything you need except the ingredients for whatever you are making. I wanted to make cider so I also bought a Mangrove Jacks cider kit. I'll probably be transferring tonight as fermentation seems like it has stopped. Smells like cider. Oh it's a little cold in my house so I also ended up adding a temperature controlled heater to keep it between 64-75 degrees. Depends on the conditions and time of year where you are brewing. The process seems pretty simple actually not at all as complicated as I thought before.

Good value but fermenting bucket doesn't seal

Overall this is a really good kit for the money however the fermenting bucket does not form a tight seal because it doesn't have a rubber gasket so the airlock doesn't bubble and it may let air (and bacteria) in during fermentation. My brew went ok but I couldn't see the fermentation in the airlock. Please add a sealable bucket to this kit - it's a real pitfall for new brewers like me.

        Good Place to start

I am presently fermenting my first beer. the kit has what I need. At first I thought they sent me a Wine kit in a beer box but More Wine in just printed on the other side of the bucket. Pros; Almost everything I need Hydrometer and test tube Bottle brush caps caper air lock stopper tubing two bottle fillers sanitizer fermenting bucket bottling bucket one lid.- Cons; The lid can leak This caused panic Solution: I used plastic packing wrap (food storage wrap) to seal the lid the. The bubbling stated again. After choosing a good starter beer in a box kit (I choose a dry malt kit) - I went to work brewing. cleaned and sanitized the fermentor pitched the yeast and put it all in a dark cool place to work. The nest day it stated bubbling slowly the day after it was bubbling very well. I carefully twisted the lid to get a better look at the air lock so I could watch the bubbles and that's when it all went wrong. The bubbling stopped! For the first time. after waiting all day for the bubbling to start again I decided to twist the lid again and the bubbling started again. after a few days I messed with the air lock and the bubbling stopped. I thought this was the end of my yeast but after researching I discovered that sealing the lid with plastic wrap made the bubbles start again. Next time I make a batch of beer I will seal the lid with plastic wrap.

A decent starter kit for reasonable price

A decent starter kit pretty much everything you need. Everything works but most items will eventually need upgrading fermenter capper thermometer etc.

        Live the kit

Love the kit! The bottle capper could DEFINITELY be better though. We broke several bottles out of a small batch with it. Overall I am happy with it though.

        Good purchase for novice brewer.

Great starter kit. I purchased this kit and a turkey fryer kit for doing a full boil. Have made many batches and are very satisfied

how tall is the six-gallon fermenter with the air lock installed?

        MoreWine

If you're looking to put the fermenter into a fridge or something you'll want >24".

Do you ship to Japan? And if so what would be a estimate of the shipping cost?

What size is the transfer tubing included with this kit?

        MoreWine

I believe it is 3/8 inch. Fits the kit anyway and can be replaced or you can get longer either at MoreBeer or your local hardware store.
