I like it very much. Is like going back to chemestry sessions from high school. Pills and accesories very well marked and with safety use precautions. The case is also very well fitted.

Good basic water test kit. The sulfate test is a bit arbitrary but it works.

Takes all the mystery out of your brewing water chemistry. The equipment and supplied reagents are easy to use and well packaged. The instructions are clear and laid out in simple steps. It is a learned skill to "swirl" a test tube without splashing the contents everywhere but the kit comes with lids for the tubes so you can just shake them and get the same effect. The chemicals supplied look like they would be good for 50 or more tests. Here on the beach my tap water varies dramatically depending on rainfall and what the council are doing to the roads. A filter campden tablets and a water test make the final brewed results a lot more predictable and tasty.

I ordered a Ward Labs report on my water and while waiting I decided to perform a self test using this kit. The process is as painless as can be expected (similar to testing chlorine in a pool) and there are very good instructions on how to complete the test. The results were comparable to the professional lab test; although the lab test was more precise. If you have low ion concentration in your water then a difference in one extra drop can mean a 50% difference in hardness values…for brewing this is likely ok. It’s also ok if you have a high ion concentration….say hardness of 220. A difference between 220 and 227 shouldn’t be a big deal but a difference of 10 and 14 might be. The thing the professional test gives you is precision if it’s important. The thing this test gives you is repeatability. Since water quality changes over time it’s important to monitor every so often and that would be very costly with professional testing.

Any serious brewer should be concerned with their water chemistry. The results closely match a Ward water report from 1 year ago so I'm confident in the accuracy. Great kit.

I have used the kit once so far to establish my water composition. It was easy to do and gives me confidence about adjustments necessary for my first all grain batch.

I had no idea where my water Ions were for different styles of beer other than the annual local water report that was not even close to where my actual test results were. Not to mention the local water report was not taking into consideration what it would be after the carbon chlorine filters I had installed. Plugging the test results of the actual water used into beer smith has allowed me to hit the water for the style I am brewing easily. Highly recommend this.

I've been sending water samples out for testing for the past few years but figured I'd try to dial in my water more accurately by testing it before each brew. Got the kit did all the tests in under half an hour (and I expect that to be much faster next time now that I know what I'm doing) and the results were pretty close to the Ward Lab test I'd got a few months ago. While it doesn't have the same level of accuracy as say a Ward Lab report (10ppm steps are the smallest in some cases where Ward Lab will get to 1ppm) this is easily 'good enough' for making homebrew. And considering how many tests I can get out of: Easily worth the money.

Without data it is just an opinion.This kit will get you the data you need in reasonable ranges to take your beer to the next level without breaking the bank. If you want to brew beer better than you can buy this is a good investment.

The kit is well organized and the instructions are easy to follow. Provides enough materials to conduct numerous tests. I recommend to all home brewers and nano brewery brewers.

Seems like a great product. It’s hard to double check but I did it twice and got similar results. I used it to brew several beers and it’s seemed to be spot on taste wise. It was very easy to use and better than a water report. It’s a great way to step up my game.

My RO filter set up removed every thing from the ground water except the clorieen. but did reduce it by 2/3 of normal Now I know whats going on with my water. All grain brewing is all new to me and I now have the tool to do it right...

I was able to gain insight into different water sources and adjust the water for the different styles of beer. The quantity of supplies allows for numerous tests vs just a few.

Hesitated on buying one of these kits since it’s inception. Well needless to say I just brewed one of the best beers I’ve ever brewed!! No more guessing!! Get one!!

I appreciate what this kit measures but the precision is lacking. It's generally in 10ppm increments which is good enough to get by but not good enough to improve on the annual report from my local water district. So it wasn't worth the money and I decided to return it after one use. The regent colors are also pretty dull in some cases and hard to tell when color has actually fully changed. If you can't get a district water report this would probably work for you. If you can there's no reason to get it.

Easy to use and gets you results in 20 min first time. You can make it faster once you get comfortable with all the process.

Overall - I like this kit. I don't have a lot of experience with other water testing kits but it seems to work well and is pretty easy to use. The only thing I would change would be to include a color target. Many of the tests have you add 5/6 drops of a certain substance to the water under test which will change the color to say purple. Then you are supposed add any number of drops required to change the color to say blue. The hard part is that my perception of blue may be different than yours. Having a color target of the expected blue would be helpful to say that the water under test has reached the correct color. Now count the number of drops and that is your ppm concentration of the say chloride. Additionally my sulfate test was almost indistinguishable from the 0-25ppm test meaning it is anywhere in between. This makes it kind of difficult when trying to figure your sulfate / chloride ratio.

A very useful tool to detect changes and variations on the water profile easy to use and accurate. If you want to know the difference between a good beer and a outstanding beer!!!

Excellent water test kit that allows you to understand your water chemistry and deal with it on brew day. So very easy to use with the included instructions and is a lot cheaper than having your water tested by a professional who is going to use a similar technique. If you understand the importance of your water on your beer and you understand how to treat your water then you need to have this kit.

I really liked the Brewlab. There was a very small learning curve but the testing is very easy after the first or second time.

Great directions make this kit easy to use.

Love this kit! I take regular samples of my brewing water to track changes over time. Much more convenient than shipping off samples to a lab. The kit has a very easy to follow guide for each water test. It’s very simple and well worth the money. I’ve gone through every test 7 times and I’ve used up probably 1/3 of the included solutions.
