Had one break but after a couple of years of use. Didn’t seem bad to me. Have moved on to stainless conical. Good luck but speidel I’s a good product

I’ve only had one gasket break and replaced it without any problems.

Agreed one piece design would be great. I have the same issue here. I just bought a few extras to keep on hand.

Hi I'm on my second o-ring and have not had that issue. How tight are you screwing the lid on? I'm wondering if it's getting pinched/out-of-shape from being too tight?

In four year of brewing 15-18 batches/year I've only had one 60L fermenter gasket break. It happened during cleaning. In that one case it was clear that the glue seam was inadequate. Other than that I've had good luck.

We bought 10 new gaskets thinking that we have stretched them out with use. Nope the new ones are same size and we have horrible time trying to get them to fit once they are in the lid and fall out I don't remember this happening when we first got them with original gaskets. have ruined several batches of beer from where we didn't notice the gasket slipped out or it doesn't seal because its to big

Bill I have both a 120L and a 60L fermenter and the 60L lid is a lot more difficult to seat than the larger fermenter. I’ve always been able to get mine to seal but sometimes it takes a good deal of force. I’ve thought about using silicone or food grade petroleum jelly to lube the gasket but haven’t had to resort to that yet.

Put the gasket in the fridge for an hour than it should fit.

Had similar problem with the 3i.7 gal Speidel tank. Get new gasket from More Flavor or you will spoil your wine like I did foolishly.

Are you putting it in the right place it goes all the way out not the inside area

Have not had an issue with that.
