Stainless Steel Wort Chiller (25' x 3/8 in With Tubing)

    Description

Few materials are more durable or more attractive than stainless steel, which is exactly what sets this Stainless Steel Wort Chiller apart from similar chillers. This high quality stainless wort chiller includes 8 feet of vinyl tubing attached to both the in and out using a female garden hose fitting on the “in” side, as well as 25 feet of stainless steel tubing measuring 3/8 inch diameter.

Although stainless steel takes a little longer to cool your worth than comparable copper tubing, its advantage is that it won’t tarnish between uses. Stainless steel is also much more affordable than copper, which makes this an economical choice that won’t sacrifice quality or real-world effectiveness. This stainless steel wort chiller also contains a brass hose adapter for an even more attractive, high quality look and feel.

The Stainless Steel Wort Chiller 25’ x 3/8” is made entirely in the U.S.

Note: The inner bend on the coils have small indentations that are a natural result of the winding process used during manufacturing. As an upside, these do actually help turbulate the cooling water to eliminate laminar flow (helps increase the cooling capacity).

Stainless steel wort chiller effectively cools wort in 15-30 minutes. Customers said it "works great" and beats ice baths. Most cooled 5 gallons to 70°F quickly. Some reported leaking couplings and loose clamps requiring tightening. Less efficient than copper but more durable and easier to maintain. May struggle with larger 10-gallon batches.

        My 1st Wort Chiller

I chose this over copper because in my research it said copper will eventually rust so I wanted something long term. Granted the stainless steel version may not cool as quickly but I was able to drop the temp of my DigiBoil G2 from 178F (Fahrenheit) to 80F in approximately 30 minutes. I used a generic garden hose which connected perfectly to the wort chiller and well water which is approximately 55F. The best part of all is you don't have to sanitize it because the boiling wort does the job for you!

        Works great except...

The chiller works wonderfully. COols down wort real quick. My only problem with it was the coupling that attaches to the water hose leaks like crazy! I had to go buy another one. Not a huge deal but something you buy brand new should work perfectly with no leaks. Cheers!

        It's OK

Wasn't enough to cool down 10gal... my water temp was 70*F and it took forever to cool the wort... I even placed the hose in ice water but it is hard to transfer heat through a vinyl hose... The hose had a couple of kinks in it that was annoying. I couldn't get the hose clamp to stop dripping water so I gave up and let it drip as it wasn't dripping into the wort. On my next batch I will upgrade the hose and use compression fittings. Then I will get a copper one and place one of them in a bucket of Ice Water... I am not being negative about this just some issues I will work through...

Did as hoped cooled wort with in 30 min to 72 degrees 5.5 gallons. Always check the clamps and tighten as needed after the chiller in in the kettle and tubing is hot

        Stainless steel wort chiller

I used the wort chiller with an ice bath and submersible pump. It was very efficient in bringing my wort temperature into the 70 F range in a short period of time. Very pleased with the product.

Works well had to adjust the coils so there would be more coil in the wort. Chilled wort from boil to 100 degrees in about 20 minutes. Very satisfied.

I'm not sure why it took me so long to buy a chiller it sure beats the hell out of ice baths. On my first use I was able to take a 5 gal batch from boil to 70F in just under 20 min.

        Great product

Worked exactly as described. The clamp on the line in to the chiller was not tight enough upon delivery so I had to tighten it to keep it from leaking in to my wort but it was nothing I didn't expect as I expected the heat of the burner and wort to expand the chiller and its lines. This product did exactly what I wanted it to. Could not be happier with this chiller.

I had to adjust the hose clamps so it didn't leak but it did it's job and dropped the temp quicker and easier than an ice bath.

Solid wort chiller for half the price of a copper one.

Fits my 13.8 diameter 8 gallon kettle perfectly. Cools wort as advertised. Took ten minutes to cool 5 gallons of hot wort down to 60 degrees. Anything that makes or improves brew day gets five stars in my book!

        Everyone needs one of these

I don't know how I brewed without this. I literally watched the thermometer going down as water was running through it. Of course I have well water that's fairly cold but it works great. Didn't want to hassle with copper this thing is perfect.

        impressed

Since receiving this wort chiller I am impressed with performance. I have used it twice and both time brought a 5 gallon boiling wort down to 80 degrees in about 15 minutes using a little over 15 gallons 5 of which I used to setup for cleaners and another 5 for sanitation.

        works well

Used this for the first time cooled the wort down in about 45ish minutes. No leaks but did check to make sure the clamps were tight (as the directions stated).

Copper is a better heat conductor but...

I've used copper immersion chillers before and they work great but they discolor and tarnish easily not to mention bend. Technically copper is a better heat conductor but the stainless version is a little cheaper easier to clean and definitely sturdier compared to the copper ones I've used. In comparison to copper it cools just fine and beats any ice bath. Only thing I'd change is a more secure tubing attachment which is the same on the econo copper chiller. It is guaranteed to require fiddling. Heard some places are adding hose barbs to similar econo type chillers. So save the money for yeast or grain....or maybe hose barbs. You won't regret it

I know the chiller itself is made in the USA but is the stainless steel tubing made in the USA? If it’s imported do you know from which country?

        MoreWine

Hello Levi The stainless steel tubing is made in China.

Why does this item have “prop 65” warning? Is the brass leaded? Or is it the stainless?

        MoreWine

Just about anything going to California needs a prop 65 warning. Even grains have it. The tubing is stainless steel and it works great. Everything is food grade so buy with confidence. Happy brewing.

        MoreWine

I'm not sure why this warning is on here. The tubing is stainless. This warning is on anything anymore.

        MoreWine

Vinyl is listed on prop 65 list

        MoreWine

It is stainless. I don’t know about the “prop 65” warning. California warns about everything but we should be warned about them instead :)

        MoreWine

Hi Holden even lead free brass is still considered above the legal limit of lead and in the state of California and still needs the Prop 65 label.
