Yeast Harvester for Conical Fermenters - 1.5 in. T.C.
This harvester comes with 1.5" ID sight glass (not like our standard 2" ID harvester.) This results in a more economical product, with the downside of not being able to harvest as much yeast. A great way to harvest your fresh, clean yeast for re-use in your next batch! 8.5" in length How it works: Yeast naturally fall to the bottom of our conicals (which is one of the nice things about them). After 3-4 days into fermentation, dump your trub as usual and close the butterfly valve. Attach the Yeast Harvester to the valve and re-open the valve, which will flood the harvester with beer and some yeast. Over the final days of fermentation, the yeast will drop out of solution and collect in the sight glass, displacing the beer. At the end of fermentation, you will have a full container of creamy white yeast - perfect for pitching a huge quantity of free yeast into your next batch. Close your bottom valve and disconnect the Yeast Harvester and attach the pressure relief cap over the opening and seal with a tri-clamp. Always store in the refrigerator. Included relief valve prevents over pressurization. Unit Holds ~170ml. Max PSI: 6 In this video you see active fermentation. The yeast harvester was left on to observe the onset of fermentation and to easily collect the yeast once it settled out for re-pitching. Yeast Harvester Video from Olin Schultz on Vimeo.

Yeast Hulls | For Stuck or Sluggish Ferments
Yeast Hulls are ususally the first action when you have a stuck or sluggish alcoholic or malolactic fermentation. Yeast Hulls are essentially dead yeast cells that absorb auto toxic yeast by-products that could be inhibiting your active yeast or ML culture from doing their job - finishing your fermentation! Yeast Hulls are then typically followed by Pro-Desert in the case of a stuck alcoholic fermentation or Acti Ml in the case of a stuck ML ferment. As a side note, Yeast Hulls are included in the Fermaid K mix of nutrients to help prevent problem ferments from the onset. The reason you would not use Fermaid K for most stuck ferments is that Fermaid K contains DAP. If DAP (Diammonium Phosphate) is added to the ferment past the point of metabolization by the yeast it could potentially leave an unwanted, residual flavor. Use at the rate of .5 to .9 grams per gallon. If stored in a cool, dry place, will last up to 3 years. A rough approximate of weight is 1 tsp = 2 grams. We highly recommend using a scale to weigh the product for an accurate dose. We do not recommend relying on these rough conversions for accurate dosage rates.

Yeast Nutrient - Diammonium Phosphate (DAP)
Diammonium Phosphate (DAP). A source of nitrogen for yeast. Use .5 - .75 grams per gallon (1/2 tsp per 5 gallons) of must to aid yeast and help reduce later problems with hydrogen sulfide. There is a superior nutrient regimen (using Go-Ferm and Fermaid K) for wine making: Click here for a PDF of the MoreWine Manual on re-hydrating wine yeast and a recommended nutrient addition. A rough approximate of weight is 1 tsp = 3.1 grams. We highly recommend using a scale to weigh the product for an accurate dose. We do not recommend relying on these rough conversions for accurate dosage rates.

Yeast Starter Kit (1000 ml)
The most common size used to make starters using White Labs brand yeast. Same as our Y300 Starter Kit, but with a 1000ml Erlenmeyer flask instead of the 500ml. (We do not recommend the use of an electric element with these flasks. If this cannot be avoided, we recommend using a larger pot as a hot water bath on the stove.) In the lab world, these flasks are known as "Student Grade". A great flask for making yeast starters!(Student grade is not the highest grade flasks and will have minor defects)

Yeast Starter Kit (500 ml)
500ml Erlenmeyer flask, 1/2lb light dried malt extract & 1oz Fermaid K (Yeast Nutrient). This starter kit is for growing liquid yeast starters. The idea is that the starter acts as a mini batch of beer where the yeast cells replicate before being pitched into your 5 gallon batch. More yeast means fermentation starts faster. The bacteria and wild yeast that got into your beer during the transfer from kettle to fermenter have less chance of creating a negative flavor impact upon your beer.

Yellow Caps
These Oxygen Absorbing beer bottle caps have a special liner that absorbs oxygen in the bottle's head space. This helps reduce the oxidation that happens during the bottling process, keeps your home brewed beer tasting fresher, and can extend it's shelf life. Important to note: It is recommended that you only sanitize as many caps as you'll require at the time of bottling. The oxygen-absorbing agent is activated when the cap gets wet. If wetted caps are saved for later use, they'll still function as a normal cap, but the oxygen absorbing agent may be depleted.

Zahm & Nagel CO² Volume Meter
The Zahm SS-60 Volume Meter was developed to determine average CO² levels of gas in tank stored beverages. Its improved design over the older Zahm-Hartung Volume Meter (Series 2000) greatly improves accuracy and time required to run a test. A precise piston release mechanism eliminates bleeding off of the sample and the potential for human error. Samples undergo repeatable, precise volumetric expansion test after test for more accurate measurements. The lightweight design reduces operator fatigue while the stainless steel construction increases strength and resists corrosion. The thermometer may also be replaced in the field without the need to return it to the factory for replacement. The parts list and line drawing should be used when ordering replacement parts or operating the instrument.
