Our 1 gallon glass jar works great for holding small amounts of beer, wine or mead for aging, small batch fermentation, overflow storage and fermentation experiments.  Although it's really just a jar, some refer to it as a 1 gallon carboy when it is used for fermentation rather than serving. Some Suggested Uses Use to store excess wine when you press off and have more than you expected. Ferment small batches of mead, sake, fruit wine or anything else that strikes your fancy! The easy way to remove oak chips and cubes from your carboys! These stainless steel perforated tubes will hold 2 ounces of oak (chips or cubes), and can be lowered into the carboy. A small piece of plastic line is tied to the top stopper of the infusion tube, and will allow your carboy stopper to seal tightly while at the same time holding the plastic line securely against the mouth of the carboy. When it is time to remove your oak, grab a hold of the line, remove the stopper, and pull the Oak Infusion Tube out of your beer or wine! Carboys are great, but they have some issues: They require funnels to get liquid in, and cleaning brushes to clean up after.  They hold a decent volume, but all are a bit undersized for fermentation, and have no inherent measuring system.  Glass Carboys are breakable, while plastic carboys scratch with the first brush cleaning.  The Fermonster leaves all these problems behind, and still sells for less than $30.  These Fermonster Plastic Carboy Fermenters are made from heavy PET plastic, the same used in 2 L soda bottles, which is nearly impermeable to oxygen penetration.  The smooth ribless walls are a feature that reduces yeast and sediment buildup, and imbedded are volume markers at five, six, and 7 gallons.  The huge 4" opening makes filling a breeze, and cleanup is as easy as wiping down the inside.  The 7 gallon is a monster of a fermenter, reducing blowoff issues seen with standard carboys.  Glass carboys are fragile, and this is nothing like that.  The hefty plastic construction will hold up to brew day abuse; and while movement is manageable, these can be upgraded with our Carboy Carrier. Got a stuck lid on your Fermonster? Get it open much easier with this specially designed lid opener. It easily slides onto the lid and gives you comfortable hand grips to open a stuck lid.
