Good kettle but the volume markers are off.

Ordered this kettle 11/2024. Kettle is sturdy and durable. I liked the lower height and wider diameter compared to other kettles because it fits perfectly over two burners on my stove and the lower profile allows plenty of clearance from the kettle to my exhaust hood. The only issue is that the volume markers are stamped too low. The actual volume is at the top of the numbers and not at the line.

        Good value

Set up is good but you cant hold the heat. I recirculate so no issue for me. False bottom will need a little pipe under the pick up point to reduce death space. Overall- good for the price.

Saves my back on large brews.

I have both Brewzilla's 65L and 35L and one thing I wasn't happy with was the sparge/Lauter time. It just went to fast unless I managed to compact the grain bed just right - I managed this once. Using this and a beer stand I can slowly raise the malt pipe and sparge/lauter for the desired time and increase my efficiency not to mention save on back pain. Add a trolley system to the works and getting that heavy malt pipe out of the way is actually pretty easy.

        Works as expected

I highly recommend this for use with the Grainfather G40. Using this device during the mash provides a more even distribution of water for recirculation than placing the recirc hose on top of the grain bed. I had a little difficulty with the assembly; the metal tube just couldn't be pushed through the hole even with soapy water. I had to sand the openings a little to get it through.

        Works well

I use on a 7bbl mash tun pumping in 200 degree strike water for a corn mash. As the description says you still have to stir the mash but this creates a nice initial mix to keep the grain from clumping together in dough balls.

        LCD Temp Sensor

Well the one that first came with it was kind of poorly designed in that the outer plastic button that allowed you to switch from C to F busted and I had to stick a pointer into the inside to make the changes also you had to remove the battery between uses. The new one allows you to turn the device off & on so no need to remove the battery any more nor change from C to F.

High quality. Worth the money for the larger size.

This kettle is great. I wish the top had some latches to hold it on while I move it from the burner to a stand but otherwise this works perfectly and is a quality product. Note on burner and draining: I ended up buying a hellfire burner which should reduce the time it takes to boil (up to 140k btu). I also purchased a high heat tube so that I don't have to monitor getting the water into the keg. Overall a great purchase and I'm glad I went with the larger size so I can brew enough for 3 sixtels at once.

        Only four stars

This is a nice kettle. I like the rounded bottom for even flame distribution. I used this kettle three times with excellent results where whirlpooling helps with moving any trub and hops particles to the center of the bottom. I have one issue with the kettle and that is it has a rough unfinished internal stainless surface not polished like the Infusion Mash Tun or Chronicle Fermenters from SsBrewTech. The kettle retains a rough surface making cleaning a little more work. Otherwise I would have given five stars. Would I recommend? Yes!

Hard to use with moving trolley

I wanted to love this unit but instead have been very frustrated with the difficulty in releasing the locking mechanism. It is true that having a trolley mounted screw eye that the unit hangs from is part of the problem but in a brew room lifting and then moving the object is the main reason I purchased it. I ended up mounting a smaller pulley above the release clip on the trolley several inches over from the screw eye the unit hangs from and ran a small heavy duty cord over it. The cord is looped through the clip (or brake) over the pulley and weighted at end about 6-7 ' off floor. This allows me to release the brake once I have lifted and moved the load to where I want it. Without that diy release cord when holding the load in place I was unable to reach out far enough to pull up and away far enough to release the brake on the load. If you are just pulling loads up and then releasing then down onto mobile carts truck beds etc. then you can probably stand far enough away to jerk the brake loose to lower the load.

Used (2) of these for an additional Weldless ball valve ports to my kettle and mash tun. No leaks. Comes with an extra set of gaskets. Works as advertised.

        Great Basic Kettle

This is just a basic kettle that functions just fine and is good for doing smaller batches. Nothing too fancy and easy to clean. Seems good quality. Money well spent.

        High quality. Works great.

The steel is nice and thick. You can tell it's good stainless steel. Very sturdy with no sharp edges. I think this will last a lifetime.

Can't hardly Read the Stamped Volume Markers

I really like the boil pot my wife got me for Christmas. I am able to brew 5 gal. batches now all in one pot. The handles are heat and slip resistant which really helps when moving boiling wort. The only issue I have is that I can hardly see the volume markers (which is one of the main reasons I wanted the pot in the first place). The stamping is not clear like the photo on the web page and is very hard to read wile boiling wort.

Does what you want it to

Works great as you’d expect. I welded up something to place this on over my mash ton for big beers. You can also place on grain bed and gently flow.

This mash recirculation manifold is awesome! Only wish is that the barber fitting was interchangeable but I made it work and couldn't be happier. 4 stars only because of the fitting. Definitely recommend it and to be honest this is not the first product I've bought from here and it wont be the last. Very happy with quality also.

Even distribution. Consider how to suspend it above gains. I fashioned some hooks to hang over the sides of my mash tun. Don't set on top of grains or it'll sink. Don't forget hose clamps!

Works fine but not on induction

I feel kind of funny giving this thing five stars but since it does I think exactly what it's supposed to why not. I've used this for around 15 brews over a year and a half. Perfectly suitable for a beginner setting out on extract brewing. No it doesn't have the bells and whistles or thick heat retaining construction but that's not what it's supposed to be. The only thing I will say is while my induction oven does pick it up it doesn't heat it. I ended up switching over to my propane burner since I couldn't get a boil going during steeping. Someone answered a question saying it worked on induction only reason I bring it up. Not a ding on more beer.

"if it leaks tighten until it stops" - good advice as it had to be made a lot tighter than I anticipated. Maybe a larger OD gasket would be better.

        Great sparge arm!

Love it! Height is easily adjusted and flow is easily regulated with the ball valve. There is just room for a 1.5" tc if you rotate the clamp so it's not where the valve handle swings. (See video if I'm allowed to upload.)
