I like everything in the kit but that darn plastic butterfly valve

I only have had the hop bong about a week but it seems that it is going to work very well for me. I am using it with a Spike Flex+ and it fits perfectly. If I did my math right there are no money savings by buying this kit over buying each part individually. So I highly recommend buying the individual parts and replacing the Kegland plastic butterfly valve with a regular 2" stainless steel one. The Kegland plastic butterfly valve is incredibly difficult to close and open. I added keg lube but it did not help. I replaced it with a stainless steel one from China which opens and closes so much easier. With the Kegland one I was afraid that I might crack the plastic of the 4" to 2" reducer base while trying to open or close but I have no qualms using the stainless steel valve that opens and closes as it should.

        Works well.

Works as described. Easy to connect. Holds set pressure. Small-format including the dial. Bring your flashlight & reading glasses. I'd buy it again.

        Good Product. needs better instructions

I am glad I bought this product. However Brewmaster Wholesale needs to do a much better job of talkling about what kind of steel this stone is made out of and how to clean it properly. For Example: what if you drop it or spill something on it? Some people can't just go out and grab a new Stone. So some information on how to properly clean the stone would be greatly appreciated. By properly I mean besyt and worst case scenario cleaning. What id you dropped it? Or forgot to clean it directly after brewing because brewwing went longer than expected?

Works great except for one flaw

This lid lets you easily add a TC port and two ball lock posts to your Fermzilla for addons like the hop bong or CIP etc. For that it works very well and is built to take a beating. It holds pressure no issues and I've used it with a hop bong with great results. The only gripe I have with it is the collar from the Fermzilla that screws on over this piece tends to unscrew any ball lock posts because there isn't enough clearance. As you turn the collar the ridges along the inside rim rub and unscrew the posts which both makes unscrewing the collar unnecessarily difficult and leaves you scrambling to grab the posts as they come off. Kegland needs to tweak the molding of the collar to give a few extra mm of clearance. It's by no means a deal breaker but it is annoying.

Keeps your fermentation cool as advertised but interior not too robust

I am very pleased with how the Cool Brew kept my primary fermentation at a cool 58 F with only the minimal task of changing 2 2 liter bottle ice bombs every 24 hours. What I'm not so pleased about is that a very small slice/tear has shown up on the bottom of the interior case. I'm not sure if it was there when I started but the case only had a Speidel 30L plastic fermentation barrel holding about 6 gallons of Sauvignon Blanc juice. It was not moved when changing ice bombs. Now I'm wondering how I should repair this little slice.

Sounding valve good gas connect not so good

5 stars for the spunding valve component but 1 star for the gas connect which did not work with the 8 mm rigid joiners at all even under a low amount of pressure.

Easy assembly Hope this flapper works

A dab of cooking oil on the red shaft and the parts easily join. flapper seals the vent holes I'm just hoping they bleed before the CO2 pops the stopper out. trusting my first one.. We'll see

        Maybe

Received this fully-assembled unit a few days ago. The BlowTie spunding valve was hooked up on the output side of the valve (arrow pointing at tube). One minute of frustration. But many may not check given it is already assembled. Flipped tube to other side and it seems OK now. Gauge at 4.5 PSI with no pressure on it. Yes I tried "burping" it. No dice. I hope this all works. None of this is confidence building.

        Expensive but great

About the easiest way to dry hop with pretty much no oxygen. Just add your hops to the bong pressurize and purge with the PRV pressurize the bong one last time to a higher pressure than the fermenter and open the butterfly valve to drop the hops in. No more fussing with magnets timing your dry hop and hoping the yeast scrubs oxygen or keg hopping. You can also use it to add gelatin purée to sours just about anything you can think of (just clean it well!) The hop bong also has lots of other cool uses as well (see Kegland's video on YouTube Key shows a bunch). Also if you have multiple Fermzillas you only need to buy this entire kit once. Otherwise you can just buy the lid with the Triclamp fitting and a 2 inch butterfly valve and just swap your hop bong around as needed. The only downside is the price it's actually more expensive than the actual All Rounder but it's super worth it in my opinion and will last a lifetime. Cheers!

        This is the best Spigot.

Get rid of the plastic spigot that comes with the Farro g;lass or the BMB. They are GARBAGE. I wish it didnt cost $15 but it is the best one I've seen so far. There is another SS Spigot here for $10 and it is ok but it is less sturdy and has a Screw on it. This one here is built like aTortoise.... The only thing I can tell is weird is how they label it a "Push down". That is why I didnt buy it in the first place. There is nothing "Push down" about this Spigot.

        Works Great

Just used it to dry hop for the first time and it works great. Fermented under 5 psi with the valve closed. Opened up the hopper and put in 7oz of pellets (that's about as much as it will fit). Closed it up purged with co2 and opened the valve. Had to move the handle back and forth to work the hops down but they went down super easy. It's a little pricey in comparison to the fermenter itself but it's made dry hopping easier than opening it up like before.

Great utility but use with caution

These will break under the following conditions... -You tighten or unscrew it by grabbing onto the ports -You tighten a plastic ball lock fitting or any of the wedge seal fittings and then pour hot liquid into it I know Kegland wants to move away from the BPA but in this case I wish I just had a polycarbonate version of this. I have to say though the design and utility of this thing is really awesome for the price

        East to use

Easy and useful. I ferment in a keg and slap this in after peak fermentation is winding down. Gives a head start on carbonation. Also use on a second keg if transferring carbonated beer to prevent foamng.

(Tried to put all this into caption). The new bung is much better than old one (see photo: old bung is sitting on barrel in background). It's a little softer which makes it fit better. The flange at the top makes the bung easier to remove each month for SO2 measurement and top-up.

        Blowtie Valve Assembly

I added the Flow Stopper assembly to this since I intend on using it primarily as a keg to keg or fermenter to keg transfer system.
