It works great I like the simple and accurate temperature control. I purchased this September 2024 and mine has a Nema 6-20p plug smaller than what's shown in the listing. It seems like an upgrade this plug makes way more sense than the old huge one! I set the temp to 140 and it heated 4 gallons in about 10 minutes. (I didn't time it but it was pretty quick) It overshot by a little and stopped at 144 after a quick stir my thermopen read 142.7. I measured the top of the water and the digiboil's probe is on the bottom so I'd say it's thermometer is spot on. Overall it's a sturdy good quality product. Worth the price!

The kettle is pretty awesome I have the 220v version with jacket. I get to strike temps and boil in a similar time to my old propane burner. I was able to brew in my garage last weekend which was cool. I bought a BIAB mesh bag and and used that to get 74% extraction eff. The included valve and barbed fitting is nice.

The DigiBoil kettle is a very good product for the price. Its temperature control is excellent. We have purchase two and have made 100’s of batches without problems.

Worked very well for steeping grain and moving up to boil with the wattage available on the 240v unit. Only complaint is the 600 watt heater is just a bit under powered for maintaining a good 5 gallon boil. Had to turn on 1900 watt heater periodically to bump up the boil rate and then turn back to the 600 watt heater. Otherwise a great unit. Easy to make a cord to use an electric dryer outlet for the 240v power.

For the money this really is the best bang for the buck. I have used it twice with great results. I have been very happy with my Brewzilla. This is a slimmed down model of that. Seems to work really well with my PID setup too.

I USE THIS KETTLE TO BOIL WATER TO KILL THE WEEDS AROUND MY HOUSE. I DON'T LIKE USING POISONS FOR THE WEEDS AND THE BOILING HOT WATER TAKES THEM OUT WITHOUT ANY OTHER SIDE EFFECTS.

Have only used it once so far. But worked perfectly. The temp was consistent within 2 degrees. Worked great for the mash. Was a little trickier during the boil. I had to run it slightly high and leave the lid mostly open to maintain a boil without boiling over.

Easiest way to go electric. Pair this with a pump and a couple coolers and I am now brewing inside. About 30 minutes to strike temp and 40 from mash out to boil. Highly recommend it if you are in the fence about electric brewing.

I brewed my first electric batch today. I have the 220v version since my garage is already wired for it. It took 25 mins to get to strike temp. The thermostat automatically shuts off when it hits the set temp but there's no alarm or alert. Next time I'll set my phone timer and go make some coffee. I BIAB and didn't use a false bottom I just shut off the elements before putting the bag/grains in. Held mash temp fine with only a couple of degree loss in an hour (I made a jacket for the kettle). I just mash out by adding 2 gals boiling water form the stove to thin the mash and bring the temp up. Just don't turn the elements back on until the bag is removed and drained . The 220v gets a good boil going in about 20 min and didn't even have a boil-over. I was actually able to shut off the smaller element and maintain a good boil on the 1900W element only. Nice and (oddly) quiet. For me the DigiBoil worked very well to replace my propane setup and simplify my brew day...weather no longer a factor with indoor brewing. Cleans up easy too. As others have said it is a no-frills economical option for an electric kettle. I do however feel like you need the 220v model to really be efficient time-wise.

I bought both sizes of this system (17G and 9G) both 220V. I have a couple other 5 gallon 3 vessel A/G electric systems but wanted to try these out for several reasons : - Smaller footprint - Easier cleanup - The ability to do larger and smaller batches than 5 gallon For full disclosure... I made a few mods to both system before I ever even plugged them in: - I removed their drain valve and installed a 1/2NPT SS valve with QD fitting outside and a whirlpool fitting inside. - That QD fitting is used to connect the valve to a pump. - I made a sparge ring that sits on the grain bed so I can recirculate the wort throughout the mash process to maintain an even temp throughout the grain bed. - I bought the insulation wrap for it. After using both for a handful of brew days I've formed some opinions.... Pros: - Price is unbelievable for what you get. - Footprint is definitely smaller than 3 vessel systems. - Operation is VERY simple - Heat up times are very reasonable. - Cleanup is a breeze - You can boil smaller batches since there isn't an exposed heating element you have to keep submerged - Having the ability to turn on/off the different sized heating elements lets you perfectly maintain as vigorous or as mild of a boil as you want. - Changing mash temperature on the fly works great. Raising to 170 for mashout is quick and painless. Cons: - The mash basket ("grain tube" as people call it) sits sooo high off the bottom that you have to put all your water in just to get enough water to mash. There's literally 2-4 gallons of water UNDER the mash basket. (depending on which size you have) This leaves no water left to sparge with. I'm sure this is whats killing efficiency. - The large fluctuation in temp control is annoying. Its about a 5 degree swing. That's a pretty big envelope when it comes to mash temp. Seems easily fixed with a little program change?? - Our typical recipe is a 5 gallon batch of about 8% IPA. That grain bill is too much for the small unit..... and it's not enough for the large unit because of the 4 gallons of wasted water under the mash basket. Overall... it's well built VERY affordable and will make beer. We will keep playing around with it. Maybe even find a way to lower the mash basket so we can sparge and see if that helps with efficiency. If we can't get the efficiency up I'll probably go back to using one of the 3 vessel systems. Or maybe just use these for our HLT and BK and use our old tried and true mash tuns.

This is an awesome piece of equipment. It heats up fast and it is an amazing value.

What can I say besides it is very simple and works perfect for me brewing extract kits. I built a 22" stand for it to sit on so I could slide a 6 gallon carboy under it and open the valve to dump it in. I had to buy a silicone oring and stainless steel nut for the ball valve which was no biggie. I am waiting for a false bottom to try BIAB but they seem to be out of stock alot. The great part is i can brew indoors without the need for an exhaust vent.

Tested the temperature of the unit twice both times it was spot on. Ran my first batch with it (heating the strike water and the sparge water) and hit my mash temperature perfectly. Super glad I got this kettle it really makes the first part of the all grain brew much easier.

Haven't had a chance to use it yet.Just had electrical panel upgraded and new 240V receptacle installed.Want to buy a hdraulic scissor stand to place it on before I start brewing but cry excited about prospects.Convinced my brother in law to buy one as well ! so contact me in a month.Should have my summer brews completed by then! Simple design simple to use pretty accurate temperature monitor. I DID mash in BIAB . Does insulate thermo probe a little but I just stuck a long thermometer thru the lid. I do recommend the jacket it does a good job??.

Very powerful boil kettle and easy to use but you need a specialized 240v receptacle to power it.

I bought this for a boil kettle to go electric at a great price point. It works great. Brought 8 gallons of wort to a strong rolling boil just as fast as my propane burner (just much more quiet). You will need a 30amp 250volt 6-30R outlet to plug into. The cord is only 5 ft long so if you want to run this away from your outlet you will need an extension cord (can be found on Amazon). I am very pleased.
