        Preferred over plastic

I love my glass carboy! It's sturdy easy to clean and doesn't scratch. Best of all when I need to move it the walls don't flex and disrupt the pressure inside sucking air and/or sanitizer into my beer.

Exactly what you need for primary fermentation

Has plenty of space for primary fermentation - may need overflow set up for more rigorous brews but in the main is a perfect size.

        Only 6.5 gal carboys

Started with one 5 gallon glass carboy and it just wasn't enough room for 5 gallons so we could only use as secondary...have purchased 6.5 gallon glass carboys since cuts down on blow outs.

        classic choice

Smooth interior finish means no place for bacteria to hide. Easy to clean and small opening on neck reduces chance of "bugs" getting in. Also ensures that you get a full 5 gallons of drinkable brew after fermentation dry hop into your keg.

        Great carboy

I have a couple of these that I use for primary fermentation with grat results. I have had to use blow-off tubes on high gravity beers but I have no complaints on the product.

        Definitely the way to go

I have used these for 4 years now. the 6.5 glass carboys are the perfect size fermenters for 5 gallon batches. They leave enough room for high krausen which is perfect if you have a blowoff tube.

        I love glass carboys!

I have 2 of these in a temp controled chest freezer. Don't forget to get the airlock and stopper!

The only size I buy now.

Forget the 5g carboys. I only buy 6.5 now. Perfect for 5g batch so you can dry hop easily.

        Nice big easy to clean

I decided I no longer trusted my PET carboys. Scrubbing is more satisfying than soaking. Plus having an extra 1/2 gallon of headspace is very nice. Will be putting it to the test with a hefeweizen this weekend. No defects in the glass noted. I etched gallon and 1/2 gallon markings on mine to better monitor brewhouse efficiency.

        Great Size

Bought the 6.5 and the 5 gallon carboys as an addition to my original pair. Cost is basically the same at other home brew sites but shipping is much cheaper when buying from MoreBeer.

Extra .5 gallon head space is a huge improvement.

Having the extra head space means I don't have blow offs as 1.5 gallons is big enough to hold the Krausen while 6 gallons is not. Easy to clean wont easily scratch so you can use a brush and a rotating carboy cleaner. I use a brew hauler to move it safely.

great for a 5 gallon batch

In my opinion this is the best cost effective primary fermenter. Sure plastic is cheaper but they will only last so long even if you take care of them. Plastic scratches and bacteria love to hide in the scratches which leads to an infected batch.

        6.5

I've brewed a Pale Ale Kolsch and Pliny in the 6.5 and they all hold the different fermentations well. Pliny went close to the top of the cayboy and I was glad to have the extra .5 gallon space.

Glass Carboy (6.5 Gallon) - Smooth Neck

Purchased this carboy because my previous one broke when it tip over while draining it from sanitizer. Carboy is sufficient and provides the correct amount of head space for a 5 gallon fermentation.

The glass is free of bubbles and any other defects. The glass carboy is simply the best for home brewers and up to use for fermenting. Thanks for the great product and excellent service (Concord CA showroom)

The way to go for primary ferments with some head space. I can brew a pretty high gravity beer and still not have the airlock filling up with yeast.
