These have been the standard go to hydrometer I've used for years. I do keep an extra one on hand because I'm clumsy.

I have used several types of hydrometers during my more than 18 years of home brewing. I believe this one will become my favorite. I like the shorter size and the easy to read scale. I will order another as a spare. You should always have a spare hydrometer because on rare occasions they can break.

I'm used to figuring a correction factor every time I get a new hydrometer. This one was spot on 1.000 in 68 degree distilled water. I also like the size. It is small enough that I only need 2/3 as much wort or beer for a sample.

This is a great tool for measuring the OG of my wort before fermentation & monitoring the fermentation. I love it! However when it comes high accuracy measurements for the FG a MT315 is a superior tool. You will be dealing with 2 different instruments each having its own specific purpose in the manufacturing process. (Most brews the OG will be off scale for the MT315 Final Gravity Hydrometer. After fermentation the beer will most likely be within range for the MT315. The MT315 has. a smaller range of buoyancy with higher resolution for reading FG. The MT315 is a much higher precision instrument & thus far more delicate requiring more care in handeling.)

I've been using my old standby hydrometer since 1980 which I got in a ramshackle old kit given to my dad. But finally the markings started coming off the outside rendering it almost useless. It was a very reliable sturdy science tool and the replacement one I bought from another company a few years ago didn't last wasn't accurate. This one however is a good quality for the money seems very accurate and sturdy like it will last along time. 39 years? doubtful. But hopefully a long time.

I needed a back up hydrometer I liked the price of this one and it's easy to read.

A good hydrometer. I ordered three just to have backup in case the inevitable happens. I fo have more expensive ones but these are nice to have in hand.

well no not quite but in comparison to the two that I broke with almost no effort on my part this one should last a lot longer since it is more robust. I believe the only way I'll break this one is if I drop it and it might not break even I did that (I think ?!?). Now because the graduated part is wider or thicker it is a bit shorter than the other ones and subsequently a bit harder to read. I'm quite willing to put up with that. There is nothing so aggravating as dropping one and then turning around to pull the other one out of the dishwasher only to hear it snap as it catches on the rack.

I have enough experience brewing that I don't need all of the bells and whistles of some of the more expensive Hydrometers. I have always had Triple Scale Hydrometers because I started brewing with them. They are easy enough to read and I get great measurements whether I want to be spot on accurate or approximate. My preference is to be spot on accurate. I would recommend this Hydrometer.

This hydrometer works great and is much easier to read than the ones with multi-colored backgrounds. Love it.

I always keep a spare hydrometer on hand. I had to un-package this one yesterday and was surprised at how much better this unit is than the one it replaced Very easy to read scales. It actually feels more well-made than the cheaper one I had been using. Now I'm wishing I'd at least taken a look at this one when it arrived instead of just stashing it away. I'd have been using it all along. I am ordering a spare today.
