These are my favorite fermenters (I have two of them just bought a third). It cannot be overstated how nice it is to see the fermentation happen so you know when to ramp temps or when you've hit FG. I even favor them over my Anvil buckets for that reason alone and the PET is very close to stainless in terms of keeping oxygen from leeching in like plastic buckets. Only a couple quirks: first is the spigot. Make sure to not overtighten it as I find that is even more likely to cause leaks than undertightening. I usually put the spigot in then thread the nut on until tight then hold the nut and give the valve a half turn more. Store some sanitizer in the fermenter during your brew day as your leak test. The second quirk is the volume markers. I would definitely manually fill the fermenter a gallon at a time with a calibrated pitcher or something (you can even do it by weight) then mark it off with a Sharpie. Otherwise I love these things! P.S. the mouth of the fermenters fit perfectly in the Bucket Blaster and makes cleaning an absolute breeze!
I have 2 of these. they work great! easy to clean with the large mouth top. Just use a sponge. Spigot is raised just enough for trub to get left behind.
10 gal primaries (heavy 6.6 gal glass carboy & a 6 gal bucket) get carried down a steep flight of basement stairs. The bucket is scratched & no longer airtight so I replaced it with a 7 gal Fermonster w/ spigot & carrier. Excited when it arrived but noticed a 4" wide 1" deep depression along the length of 1 of the side seams. It temporarily pushes out with a little pressure. Worked really great on 1st batch but wonder if it is defective. Anyone else noticed this?
Easy to use easy to clean! I love this fermenter. I have 1 x 7 gallon and 1x 6 gallon for secondary. I need more!
I would give a 4 or 5 star but for a couple issues. The spigot leaks a tiny bit around the weldless compression fitting. I tightened it a lot but still seems to leak. only a few drops during ferment. Ill take it off and clean and see if I can get it to seal better. The lid gasket doesn't stay in its groove in the lid. annoying when it falls out when you take the lid off. Its also a very thin gasket. Seals though. Spigot placement could also be 1/2" lower. I had about 1" of beer left on top of the settled yeast cake. Tipping the fermenter worked to get most of it not all but it did cause the settled material to stir up a bit. It could be thicker but strong enough. Love that it is clear. Love that there are accessories available at reasonable prices. Overall I like it and would get another.

Never had a plastic fermenter before. Works great easy to clean serves the purpose nicely
Better than a bucket
At the end of every brew there are dreggs in the bottom of the carboy. The spigot allows you to runoff the product without disturbing the dreggs. Cause even the sifon tools allows dreggs to get in your bottling.
The fermentation went well with no leaks or blow over. The transfer to the keg was also straightforward with the spigot. I used an inline strainer but that was hardly necessary with this brew since the spigot was above the trub. Cleaning the lightweight FerMonster was especially easy with the large mouth and everything rinsed off easily from the smooth sides. I would definitely recommend this product.
The plastic on this is a bit thin which makes it light weight but also makes it a bit flimsy. I was worried that I was going to crack it when I screwed in the spigot. It's also difficult to read the gallon markers. I would also prefer a smaller hole for the airlock. On the plus side I think the raised part on the bottom will make transfer to secondary nice and clean.
Was what I anticipated
I like it and the lid screws on so it can't come of like others.
Just what I needed with a spout
Tall to avoid bubble over through the airlock. Clear to see what's going on. I put on a temperature indication strip. I didn't realize that room temp and fermenter temp are not the same. Pretty exothermic! Easy to transfer to the keg.
Like to be able to see fermentation. Big opening to make it easier to clean good for the price
So far so good! I have my first beer fermenting in the FerMonster now. Super easy to use and cool to be able to watch the magic happen (moving away from white buckets). The varying strap is super helpful and the thermowell stopper is perfect. Looking forward to the next batch!
This may be your first and last fermenter purchase. :) Much easier to clean than the "bubbler" competition. Better seal also. The addition of the spigot is terrific. If you're careful with trub you can go out of the spigot right into the keg liquid quick disconnect with very little o2 pickup. :) Buy it!!!
no leaks from the spigot on first install just hand tightened with the gasket on the outside as instructed by morebeer. The spigot makes taking samples a breeze. Just remember to pop open the air lock so the negative pressure doesn't suck the airlock contents down into the fermentor.
Very good but it could use some kind of handle to make lifting easier
The sides dent in if not careful when moving full fermenter. And some did not pop back out.
If you're sticking with a PET carboy this one is tough to beat. Wide mouth plenty of capacity and easy to clean.
Big easy to use high quality materials good price! I love these things! Now brewing two batches at a time :)
Works really well have 4 of them now
This fermenter is OK but not as sturdy as the ‘Better Bottle’ Getting the spigot sealed took a couple of tries. I already ordered a solid lid and a carry strap. On the plus side straight surfaces should be easy to clean.
Works great just like my 6gal
Love this thing. Using a brewjacket with them. Racking made easy easy to clean. Extra headspace is nice for high gravity beers.
I love these fermonsters in the 7 gallon size. They're easy to clean because I can fit my arm most of the way in to scrub. The spigotted option is great for moving liquids to a secondary fermenter or bottling and it's off the bottom by enough to leave trub inside.
This thing is perfect plenty of head space for 5 gal batches. Easy to clean / sanitize. Light enough to move around and of course its nearly impossible to break. priced pretty well too!
Safer then glass lightweight fits in kegerator for cold crashing easy to clean and the spigot makes draining to secondary or keg super easy.
Have 2 of these now and I love them!!!
Great product Great price Great service
Good sized fermenter and it doubled as a bottling bucket for me. Worked great good seals and no leaks at the spigot. Very much recommended along with the strainer that sits in the top opening. I already bought my second one.
