"if it leaks tighten until it stops" - good advice as it had to be made a lot tighter than I anticipated. Maybe a larger OD gasket would be better.

Fits perfectly on my 10 gallon rubermaid cooler

My only issue was with the rubber gasket. I didn't like the seal it made so I purchased some gasket material and made my own.

Got this after returning a cheaper version that I bought off Amz (and that leaked). This one is great. Had to enlarge the drilled hole from 7/8" to 1" but other than that it was a total snap. Now I'm back in business.

Fit my 10 gal rubbermaid cooler. Worked well the one time i have used it.

Mistakenly purchased a couple 14 gallon Chapman Fermenters. They leaked terribly. Contacted them and they offered no useful advice. This product solved my problems and I couldn't be more pleased.

I needed a ball valve to attach to my Coleman 82 qt cooler used to hold a glycol solution. The ball valve itself works as I needed but the bulkhead was not long enough for the thick walls of the cooler. I had to extend it by attaching a nipple and using a different washer and locking nut.

Worked perfectly for my HD orange 10 gallon cooler. everything I needed for the bulk head with valve.

It would also be good for an MLT made from a beer cooler. The large ball valve makes for easy accurate adjustments and it does not leak at all.

I would recommend the SS valve good price and should last for any brew days.

Easy modification of a Home Depot cooler no drilling or filing required. Assembly fit right into the cooler's hole when the spigot was removed. Make sure you leak test the fitting with hot water as my initial test was with cool water which was fine but leaked when 170F water was added. Additional tightening eliminated the leak.

I installed 3 of these for my set up. 2 on coolers and one on the boil kettle. Work great!! Highly recommend. Also added the tube screen which is great for my mash cooler.

I bought this as an upgrade from my previous brass ball valve kit. It is an improvement but it didn't install as expected. The stainless washer doesn't fit inside the recessed groove on the face of my cooler as shown in the instruction manual. I guess my Rubbermaid cooler is slightly different than the one this kit was designed for even though the picture of the cooler in the instruction manual looks identical to mine. In the end I was still able to install the kit but it does not sit quite as nicely as shown in the instruction manual. Also the 1/2" barb that comes with this kit very large and didn't fit any of my existing high temp siphon hosing. It would be nice to have the option to choose the barb size when purchasing this kit.

I installed 2 on coolers and one on my boil kettle. These are amazing quality!! Many of the comments on leaks are due to improper installation. The rubber gasket must be installed outside the cooler or kettle. The nut and washer go inside. Tighten them up and these are leak free! I agree the card is wrong.

I'm using this in my cooler mash tun. It is working great with no leaks.

I have used these to make keggles. They could use thicker stiffer washers for sealing against the curved surfaces

I was building a mash tun and figured that the cost of this item was cheaper than building from the local hardware store. This valve has been through 25+ brews now and I have had no problems with it.

I bought this ball valve to convert my cheap old 5 gallon kettle into an HLT when I started brewing with all grain. It was easy to drill the required hole with a step bit. I filed down the jagged edges of the hole and installed the valve per the included instructions. No problems. NO LEAKS.

I used it on my cooler I bought from Lowes. Not a single problem and easy to install.

I love this ball valve. Very sturdy and well made. I added a second silcone gasket (one on the inside and one on the outside) based on other reviews that mentioned issues with leaking. I haven't had a leak yet. The only issues I have are (1) the sliding doohickey that locks the valve open or closed and (2) the rubber coating on the handle has begun to melt and turn black. I will probably remove the locking mechanism to avoid future frustration. The burning rubber handle is probably a result of my rookie setup. I should probably fabricate a heat shield on my burner. In summary I would definitely recommend this ball valve.

This stainless combo is great for water cooler mash tuns and you can't beat the price.

Bought one of these to use in my 10 gallon Igloo cooler and it was a piece of cake to install. It leaked slightly when I first tested it out with water but hasn't leaked since using it for actual mashing.

Installed this valve in a coleman picnic cooler.Removed drain plug.Hole was big enough to thread the valve into and install.Tightened everything up.Installed tube screen.No leaks works great.Simple and easy!

Don't know why I took so long to finally do this. Drilled a 1" hole in about 5 minutes using a step drill bit cleaned off the burrs with a small hand file slipped in the spigot hand-tightened the lock nut and snugged it up an additional half-turn with a pair of channelocks. No problems no leaks works great. Note that the instructions that come with it (which is different than the one under the "Documents" tab above) omit mention of the stainless steel washer. The bulkhead and the silicone gasket go on the outside of the brewpot and the stainless steel washer and the locknut go on the inside.
