  • Filter Sheets - Seitz KS80 40 cm x 40 cm (0.8 Micron) 100 Sheets

    Seitz Filter Sheets | 40 cm x 40 cm | 0.8 Micron | 100 Sheets

    1 review

40cm x 40cm filter pads made for 40x40 plate filters. 0.8 micron pads are for ultra-fine polishing of the wine, or for preparing hard to filter wines to go through a sterile cartridge filter. Please note that all pad filters are rated 'nominal', meaning that about 90-95% of all particulate matter at the micron rating will be filtered out. There will always be a little bit of smaller material that is also filtered out, as well as some larger material that will make it through. The filters can be sterilized by in-line steam, auto-claving, dry heat, hot water or chemical methods. We choose to run Saniclean (CL27) solution through the pads followed by sterile water or a small amount of wine that is then discarded. After the solution is run through the pads, and the pads have softened, the filter will need to be re-tightened. Each pad has an entry side and an exit side, distinguishable by their different textures. The entry side is a billowy type texture, frequently called the "rough" side; and the exit side has a crosshatch pattern and is commonly called the "smooth" side. For more information on how to load filter sheets into your plate and frame filter, see our Guide to Plate Filtering. Seitz KS80 40cm x 40cm 0.8 Micron

  • Plastic Bucket (6 Gallon) w/ Hole Drilled For Spigot Plastic Bucket (6 Gallon) w/ Hole Drilled For Spigot

6.5 Gallon Bottling And Siphonless Fermentation Bucket

    3 reviews

Why do home winemakers love using a bucket to ferment and bottle from? EASE!    Going from spigot to bottle will reduce the time your wine is exposed to oxygen. It’s easier to control filling bottles than with a siphon. It’s easy to clean, easy to carry, and easy to transfer. You will love our six gallon, food grade bucket with hole for spigot and external volume markings up to five gallons.   To use as a fermenter you will need to pick up the optional spigot, lid, a stopper, and an airlock.   If you use the bucket for fermentation be sure to use care when cleaning. Do not use any abrasive pads that could scratch the interior surface. Once you get a scratch in a plastic bucket it is very hard to sanitize. This is also why we don't recommend storing equipment in a bucket between uses as a fermenter. A hot PBW soak is usually all you need to clean a bucket after fermentation.    Please note: Buckets are translucent and do not come with lids. Buckets are not designed to hold pressure. Lids are not gasketed and so do not always form a perfect, airtight seal. Not intended for long-term storage. Food-Grade to 180° F

    2 reviews

Get your grain bed evenly mixed and break up dough balls in seconds! Using a handheld electric drill, this heavy-duty stirrer makes mashing in a breeze Made from all stainless steel with a 1/4" hex head to securely attach to your drill This stainless mixer attaches to an electric drill for easy and thorough mixing of your mash. • Fermonster 1 Gallon Carboy - Ported Fermonster 1 Gallon Carboy - Ported

FerMonster 1 Gallon Ported Carboy With Spigot

    9 reviews

Carboys are great, but they have some issues: They require funnels to get liquid in, and cleaning brushes to clean up after. They hold a decent volume, but all are a bit undersized for fermentation, and have no inherent measuring system. Glass Carboys are breakable, while plastic carboys scratch with the first brush cleaning. The Fermonster leaves all these problems behind! These ported versions come with our plastic spigot (FE347), allowing for easy racking and sampling! These Fermonster Plastic Carboy Fermenters are made from heavy PET plastic, the same used in 2 L soda bottles, which is nearly impermeable to oxygen penetration. The huge 4" opening makes filling a breeze, and cleanup is as easy as wiping down the inside. Glass carboys are fragile, and this is nothing like that. The hefty plastic construction will hold up to brew day abuse. These fermentors are completely air-tight; the bodies constructed of heavy, oxygen impervious P.E.T. plastic, and the lids sealed tight with an O-Ring. Additional O-Rings and Lids both with and without holes are available for purchase, see our You Might Also Need items below. Features: 4" inner diameter wide mouth carboy - easy to clean! Food grade PET plastic construction is nearly impermeable to oxygen penetration No hard to clean dimples or ribs Punted bottom O-Ring and Lid with one hole is included (Fits #10 Stopper) Additional O-Rings and Lids available Weight: 0.6 lbs Temperature Limit: 140° F Height: 9.45 inches Diameter: 6.7 inches Completely taste and odor free Perfect for Beer, Wine, Cider, Mead, Kombucha or any other fermented beverage! Thick walls for better oxygen barrier.

  • Nitrogen and Argon Tank 22 cu ft - KOMOS Nitrogen and Argon Tank 22 cu ft - KOMOS

KOMOS® 22 ft³ Nitrogen Tank | Argon Tank | Beer Gas Tank | Premium Aluminum | New | CGA580 Valve | US DOT Approved

Use Nitrogen or Argon for flushing tanks or pushing wine from kegs for topping up barrels or serving Perfect for serving still wine, cold brew coffee, Sangria and premixed cocktails on draft Can be filled with Nitrogen, Argon, or Beer Gas Mix Brand new, high-strength aluminum tank with CGA580 valve Ships empty—fill at a welding shop or swap at your local beer & winemaking supply store Brand new aluminum 22 cubic feet Nitrogen tank made from high strength aluminum alloy and high quality CGA580 valves. Because it is made of aluminum rather than steel you can feel confident that it won’t rust. This is the tank you need for flushing vessels or pushing wine from kegs using either Nitrogen or Argon. Gas flushing is a very useful process for giving added protection to wines by helping to minimize contact with oxygen in your storage containers. Also, wine stored in kegs for either topping up barrels or for serving should be pushed with Nitrogen or Argon rather than CO2 to prevent adding carbonation to your wine (unless you want all your wines to be sparklers!). Generally speaking, we recommend using Argon instead of Nitrogen around your winery, mainly because it is denser than air and so is much more effective when it comes to flushing vessels. Though it is more expensive than Nitrogen, we feel that the added expense is worth it when it comes to protecting our wines. Aluminum tanks are superior to steel because they do not rust. All tanks are shipped empty. To have tanks filled you will want to visit your local welding supply shop. Because you are purchasing a new tank you can choose to either have it filled or to exchange it for a filled tank at your local gas supplier. If you have this tank filled the local gas supplier is responsible for affixing the correct neck label that identifies the gas being put in the cylinder. Tanks should always be stored in an upright position. Features: Made from corrosion resistant, engineered Aluminum Brushed finish Thick, durable cylinder walls DOT approved New high quality CGA-580 valve Light weight compared to steel tanks Rated to 2216 PSI service / 3360 PSI test pressure PSI (allowing for Nitrogen fill) Can also be filled with Argon or Beer Gas Mix (Nitrogen/CO2) NOTE: You will need at Nitrogen/Argon Regulator to go with this tank, a standard CO2 regulator will not work.

  • BrewBuilt CIP Conical Spray Ball Attachment BrewBuilt CIP Conical Spray Ball Attachment

    BrewBuilt® CIP Spray Ball | 1.5" T.C.

    4 reviews

BrewBuilt CIP Spray Ball for use with X-Series Uni Conicals or any stainless steel fermenter with 1.5" tri-clamp fittings. The head emits a 360° fan spray that cleans above and below the spinning ball. The sharp spray easily removes soil inside your tank. The long neck design allows the spray ball to reach through tall fittings and ferrules. With a welded 90° elbow inlet, you won't have any trouble with kinked hosing slowing your pump flow and lowering the spray ball's performance. A pump capable of 30-45 psi and 11 GPM is recommended for this product to provide a high pressure cleaning radius of 3.6 ft. When used with BrewBuilt conicals, 7 GPM is enough to coat the full interior of the fermenter, but longer CIP runs might be required to fully breakdown stubborn solid deposits.

  • CellarScience - Foam Axe - PLACEHOLDER CellarScience - Foam Axe - PLACEHOLDER

    CellarScience® Foam Axe | Anti-Foaming Agent

Due to high demand, the 32 oz, and 1 gallon are currently out of stock. Be the first to receive your items by placing a pre-order today. We will automatically ship this to you when we receive more inventory. Foam Axe by CellarScience is a uniquely formulated anti-foaming agent that increases fermenter capacity and reduces the risk of kettle boil overs. By reducing surface tension, bubbles are Axed before they can form. Foam Axe actually increases head formation in the finished beer by retaining foam forming proteins that would have normally blown off during fermentation. Use: In the fermenter, add 1-2 drops per gallon at the start of fermentation. In the kettle, add 1 drop per gallon before the boil starts to help prevent boil overs. Additional Notes: Foam Axe is made from food-grade silicone and works by breaking up foam particles and dispersing surface tension. Foam Axe settles out of beer prior to bottling or kegging. Store cool and in an environment below 90°F. Do not freeze. The recommended shelf life is 6 months from the date the package is opened.

  • Calibration Solution for MT693 - 120mL(Hanna# HI 84500-55)

Hanna Calibration Solution for Titrator - 120mL (Hanna# HI 84500-55)

The HI84500-55 is a 120 mL bottle of pump calibration standard that is used to calibrate the dosing system of the HI84500 Sulfur Dioxide Mini Titrator for Wine Analysis. A calibrated dosing pump allows for the accurate determination of the amount of titrant used when performing a titration. The amount of volume dosed along with the concentration of the titrant is used by the pre-programmed formula within the HI84500 in determining the exact concentration of sulfur dioxide. The pump calibration procedure should be performed anytime the titrant or ORP electrode is replaced. Standardized solution Clearly marked expiration date and lot number Air tight bottle with tamper-proof seal to ensure quality Analysis of sulfur dioxide in wine, as performed on the HI84500 mini titrator, utilizes a simple sample preparation, a high quality titrant dosing pump, potentiometric endpoint detector, and automatic computations. To maintain the high precision of the titrator, a simple pump calibration procedure is performed with HI84500-55 pump calibration solution. The pump calibration procedure involves the analysis of a known volume of a known solution. The pump calibration procedure should be performed anytime the titrant, syringe, tubing or ORP electrode is replaced. Periodic calibrations should be performed in order to accurately determine the free and total sulfur dioxide levels in wine.   The HI84500 determines the free and total sulfur dioxide concentration in wine using the Ripper method. Excess iodide is added to the wine sample and reacts with the iodate titrant to produce iodine:   IO3- + 5I- + 6H+ → 3I2 + 3H2O   The iodine produced reacts with sulfur dioxide in the wine according to the redox reaction below:   H2SO3 + I2 → H2SO4 + 2HI   Replacement reagents required to operate the HI84500 include:   Low Range - 1.0 to 40.0 ppm SO2 High Range - 30 to 400 ppm SO2 Pump calibration standard HI84500-55 HI84500-55 Titrant solution HI84500-50 HI84500-51 Acid reagent HI84500-60 HI84500-60 Alkaline reagent (Total SO2) HI84500-61 HI84500-61 Stabilizer powder packets HI84500-62 HI84500-62

  • Corks - 1 3/4" Grade 2 (1000ct)

    Wine Corks - 1 3/4 in. Grade 2 (1000ct)

    1 review

Superior cork quality for those needing a little extra confidence for longer ageing! A standard length and diameter single punch cork in a high quality grading at a reasonable price. Corks are typically graded on a scale of 1-10, 1 being the best score, based on the degree of porousness that the actual punch of cork exhibits. Cork trees that show a higher population of worms or fungi tend to yield cork crops which are more porous. As a result, this bag of corks is of generally higher quality and has less variation between the highest and lowest quality cork in the package. These corks are harvested and punched in Portugal, like the majority of the rest of the corks available today. They are processed, sorted, prepped and packaged here in Northern California.

We love these keg lids as either a replacement or an upgrade to the stock lid featured on many homebrew kegs. Most homebrew kegs feature a straight, parallel bale that sits extemely close to the lid when in the closed position. So close that it can be hard to get a finger or two under the bale to open it. The arms on this lid bend outward creating a nice, easy-to-grip handle to open and close the bale. For use with Torpedo, Cornelius, and Firestone kegs. Comes with a pull-ring pressure relief valve and o-ring. PRV rated to 85 psi.

Straight-A was developed as an environmentally sound product to remove tough soils yet protect soft metal finishes. Straight-A incorporates active oxygen for de-staining and protein disruption in addition to alkaline salts and chelating agents to break down and disperse soils. In this way Straight-A helps to quickly and easily rinse soils away while minimizing residue. Furthermore, the oxygen content provides an additional benefit by lowering the oxygen demand of the wastewater. Straight-A’s components will readily biodegrade or revert to naturally occurring minerals over a short period of time and the product itself is non-hazardous and non-corrosive. Because Straight-A is essentially non-foaming when used at the recommended use concentration, it may be used in clean-in-place (CIP) systems as well as in the soak tank. Straight-A may be used on essentially all surfaces, being safe for brass, copper, aluminum, and stainless, as well as polycarbonate and vinyl.

  • Modern Home Winemaking: A Guide to Making Consistently Great Wines

Modern Home Winemaking: A Guide to Making Consistently Great Wines

This is a how-to book for aspiring and serious hobbyists wanting to take their winemaking to a whole new level. It describes the process of making flawless wine, consistently, from crush to bottle using modern techniques and the latest products. Making wine is not only about fermenting juice into wine; this book details the many other processes involved in making outstanding wine, wines that will win medals at competitions. These include how to analyze and control quality parameters, such as total acidity, pH, sulfur dioxide, how to stabilize wine so that it ages gracefully without developing flaws, and how – and why – to filter. And should something go wrong, a chapter is dedicated to help identify root causes of the most common problems, how to fix faults without compromising quality, and how to avoid them in the first place. The book contains many illustrations to highlight key processes and use of equipment, and many examples to help calculate, for example, sugar and acidity adjustments to make balanced wines. A Note from the Author: “Modern Home Winemaking” presents updated techniques bridging my experience and theory, introduces new products and equipment, and discusses wine science in much more details to help winemakers make more informed decisions in their winemaking. There is also a detailed chapter describing the most popular vinifera, Native American and hybrid grape varieties, and includes winemaking tips and recommended yeast strains for each variety. And there are many examples illustrating the many calculations in winemaking, such as when chaptalizing, or when doing acid or sulfur dioxide adjustments. The focus of this book is in making the best white, rosé and red wine.

  • Wine Kit - VineCo - Estate Series - Carmenere, CHL Wine Kit - VineCo - Estate Series - Carmenere, CHL

Chilean Carmenere Wine Making Kit - VineCo Estate Series™

Although it is listed as one of the original six red grapes of Bordeaux, Carménère is all but impossible to find in France today. After a phylloxera plague in the mid-19th century, the vines were nearly all destroyed in Europe and presumed extinct. But the grape lived on, unbeknownst to anyone, in the grape growing regions of Chile where some speculate it was mistaken for Merlot and thus unwittingly preserved over the last 150 years. Indeed the two grapes share a common ancestor and are strikingly similar in appearance. Commonly used as a blending grape, but as a varietal wine Carménère is known for its deep red color, gentle tannins, and fruit-forward character with earthy notes. Growing Carménère is all but unheard of in Bordeaux today, but the grape has thrived in the vineyards of Chile where it has become the country’s leading red grape. The resulting wine is a full-bodied, dry red with aromas and flavors of red fruit and berries, plum, and floral notes. Our Chile Carménère follows the classic description, characterized by flavors of raspberry, red cherry, and plum. Medium-bodied and dry with a moderate oak presence. This red wine weighs in at the higher end of the spectrum with an alcohol level of 13.5% by volume. This Carmenere wine kit includes medium toast French oak chips. Medium toast French oak is subtle and provides refined flavors of custard, chocolate, and spice. French oak in general is often used by winemakers when they want to increase the mouthfeel and complexity of a wine without stepping on or suppressing the fruit. The VineCo Estate Carménère is the perfect wine for those that enjoy the spice of life. Or maybe more specifically, those that enjoy spice in their meals. Carménère pairs wonderfully with dishes that have a kick. Lamb curry, spicy pork sausage, Chile con Carne—these mouth watering foods are great options to enjoy with a glass of this delicious red wine. Carménère shouldn’t only be poured alongside hot dishes, but if you’re looking for something to pair with a meal that raises your heart rate, you’ve found it here. Bottle Sealing Wax is a sealing wax for any type of wine, liquor or bottled liquid. In all applications, Bottle Sealing Wax provides a tough, moisture resistant coating, which preserves freshness, flavor and fragrance. Bottle Sealing Wax adheres on both natural and synthetic corks. It provides tamper evident protection for your product. Bottle Sealing Wax can be applied by capping the top of the recessed cork or by dipping the corked bottle into the wax. Wax beads are easier to measure and melt than wax blocks. Sold in 1 pound bags and 50 pound boxes. 1 pound will cover approximately 30 bottles, depending on usage. DIPPING INSTRUCTIONS: The wax should be melted in a double boiled or crock pot. Maintain wax temperature at 180°F to 190°F. The ideal temperature may vary, depending on ambient temperature and humidity as well as the temperature of the bottle and cork. Invert the bottle and carefully lower the cork end into the melted wax to the desired depth. Leave the top immersed for 10 to 15 seconds. Carefully lift bottle straight up and allow the excess wax to run off the inverted bottle top. When excess wax slows or stops, turn bottle upright and allow to cool.

Grapefruit and lime aromas along with gooseberry, passion fruit, and lychee notes. Currently one of the top choices for late hop additions or dry hopping when you want to make that ultimate hop bomb IPA or Pale Ale. Citra® also has a fairly high alpha acid content making it a good choice for bittering IPAs, Pales, and American Ales. Supply has been limited in the industry but MoreBeer! loved this hop from day one and bought a lot of it years ago on contract. Whole cone hops are typically the preferred format for dry hopping as they maintain contact with the beer by floating, they are easier to remove than pellets and they add a unique character to the beer. 3.5 gal | Brew Bucket Mini Fermenter

    37 reviews

Upgrade your home brewery with an innovative, Stainless Steel, 3.5 Gallon Brew Bucket™ Fermenter!  Many have asked for a smaller BrewBucket, and that has been heard.  The Brew Bucket mini is perfect for 2.5 gallon batches.  With features similar to the original 7 gallon Brew Bucket, the Mini is a great way to do smaller batches.  Whether you are interested in splitting a 5 gallon batch for experimenting, or just brew 2.5 gallons, the BrewBucket Mini is a great choice. Featuring a conical bottom, 304 SS construction, a rotating racking arm valve, and stackable design, these are space saving feature rich fermentors that are easy and enjoyable to use.  We inspected and used the Brew Bucket™ and one of the most unique features that stood out is that the Brew Bucket can be stacked during fermentation, even with an airlock attached. We also like the conical bottom that allows trub to settle out in a concentrated space that minimizes the surface area of the trub that is in contact with your beer.  The included Patent Pending Rotating Racking Valve is also a brilliantly simple design allowing you to rotate the racking arm inside the Brew Bucket down during fermentation to minimize trub, and later up to get clear beer when racking!   Etched Volume Markers on the inside were super handy when filling. The build quality is really amazing for the price. Welds are clean. The lid is strong and the spring loaded lid hatches are solid.  The lid includes a removable, molded silicone gasket that ensures an airtight seal.  We love an airtight seal so that we can be sure to see the airlock working. The welded on stainless handles make the BrewBucket fermentor super easy to move. Features: 304 SS Food Grade Construction Rotating Racking Arm & Valve (Patent Pending) 3.5 Gal Max Capacity (2.5 gal Batches) 40° Conical Bottom for Trub Trapping Nests for Storage & Stacks for Ferment!
