The problem with most weldless fittings is they are thrown together from assorted hardware. Common issues include leaking and lots of flex when you use the ball valve. CellarScience® SilaFine | Beer Fining Agent
SilaFine is an easy-to-use, vegan friendly fining agent that quickly creates crystal clear beer by removing yeast and haze-forming particles. SilaFine is a unique, negatively charged silica sol fining agent that binds with and positively charged haze active proteins and polyphenols as well as yeast cells. SilaFine does not target foam active head forming proteins, leaving beer foam in glass unaffected. Use: Add 10ml or 1 tbsp per 5 gallons of finished beer. Gently rouse the beer to fully disperse the clarifier. Most effective on beer that has been chilled below 39°F. If the beer has not cleared after 24 hours, a second dose can be added. SilaFine should be stored cool, but do not freeze. Whirlpool: SilaFine can also be used in the whirlpool at a rate of 0.5-1ml per gallon to achieve a quicker and more compact sedimentation in the kettle. Additional Notes: SilaFine is based on a special selection of commercial grade amorphous silicon dioxide, also known as silica sol, at a concentration of 30%. O-rings are a EPDM Rubber, and internal valve springs are constructed from 316 Stainless steel. This is a Female Socket, that can connect to any H501 Series Male Plugs. It has a 1/2" Hose Barb on the other end for attaching any 1/2" ID tubing. While not quite as bulletproof as our Stainless Steel Quick Disconnects, this lineup does offer a few advantages. These can be set up with Shutoffs, which will prevent flow when disconnected, and can be incredibly useful on Pump or Glycol systems. Seitz Filter Sheets | 40 cm x 40 cm | 5-7 Micron | 100 Sheets
40cm x 40cm filter pads made for 40x40 plate filters. 5-7 micron pads are considered to be a "rough" filtration and are typically used to prepare the wine to be filtered by finer pads, usually either 2-3 micron or 1.5 micron depending on the winemaker's tastes and objectives. Please note that all pad filters are rated 'nominal', meaning that about 90-95% of all particulate matter at the micron rating will be filtered out. There will always be a little bit of smaller material that is also filtered out, as well as some larger material that will make it through. The filters can be sterilized by in-line steam, auto-claving, dry heat, hot water or chemical methods. We choose to run Saniclean (CL27) solution through the pads followed by sterile water or a small amount of wine that is then discarded. After the solution is run through the pads, and the pads have softened, the filter will need to be re-tightened. Each pad has an entry side and an exit side, distinguishable by their different textures. The entry side is a billowy type texture, frequently called the "rough" side; and the exit side has a crosshatch pattern and is commonly called the "smooth" side.
